Hey Braille Crew. Started skating for the first time in a decade because of your channel, mainly fetty potter though. When I was young I skated awhile, and then I stopped until I was seventeen and skated for half a year. I learned how to roll in (not drop in)/ and could Ollie. That was pretty much everything I could do. Couldnt Ollie a kicker, grind, fs or bs Ollie, or even shove it. Just rolled around felt like I was flying. Yesterday was my first day skating again, had a hard fall trying to go off a curb. Tweaked the wrist a little, but all is good otherwise. Forgot to lean forward on my front foot after going off so I slid the tail and it shot out. Ten years before, I remembered my father fell the same way on that same board. Lol Anyways, I found out I have to relearn everything. So, I've been watching all your tutorials online. I'm going to wait about a week or two before I start learning the tricks, want to get comfortable on the board first. If all works out well, I wanted to record my progress in Braille style persistence videos. I wasn't sure if you would be interested in the videos since you devote a section of your channel to progression and learning. I doubt many will see them on my non existent platform. Why you didn't skate DKL griptape all time if they are really good like you tell us ? Shoes are expensive !

I had first gen DKL griptape on my board. It felt super grippy, but the first sign of moisture and all friction was gone. Probably shouldn't have tested this during late autumn. Also no matter how much I sanded and weighed the griptape down to the board, it still kept peeling off. I still have two more sheets of DKL griptape which I might try during summer.

When I was younger, I️ got a skateboard and I tried to Ollie. I failed every time and stopped skateboard for awhile. Then I found your KZfaq channel and it made me want to skate again. So I️ went out, and ollied first try. Thanks for these awesome vids, you guys r awesome!

I have had 2 decks with dkl grip and I can say it does it’s job very well. But however with every great thing there is always a catch. The sides peel soooo much no matter how good you apply the grip. I have since gone back to regular grip . One more thing was I was skating canvas shoes and they didn’t rip at all . Try it out , it’s something new and different

Craziest thing is, you guys landed more than 85% of your kickflips... didn't exactly count but... wtf... that consistency!

This would have been a better wear test if you guys did ollies. Kickflips usually only mess up the sole of the shoe, where ollies will mess up the sole, the side of the shoe, and usually (for me at least) the shoelaces even.

Is there a good way to get more comfortable just riding around on a skateboard. I got one for Christmas and rode it around about 20 feet and fell. I was putting my back foot on the skateboard after pushing and it shot out from underneath me. Is the only thing to do just ride it more or is there some thing else I can do?

not sure why people always think the kickflip is the best trick to test shoe durability, they should just do ollies, that would rip the canvas shoes up so fast since it catches the most shoe.
