The interesting thing to note is that Usoppu s Lie actually cam true. And the fact that he lied to his own crew to protect them is also ironic. Oh just as a help for you U in Japanese is pronounced OO and apart from N and japanese syllables end in a vowel making his name OO SO POO. L is more tricky its somewhere between R and L and they are the same syllable ie ROO and LOO further down the line the names can get a bit tricky.

I thought the transliterated name ends with the P, the attached OO being a characteristic of katakana consonants, especially word-final consonants like OO SOP(OO). You don't say desOO when you read desu just des

@@liruichen the end sound is softer but still present at least according to the native speakers that I know, similarly with Desu Ive heard it done either way depending on the situation. I have heard Japanese people say it sounds odd when the end is clipped too much, its more noticeable when the name is in he sentence rather than said in isolation.
