Quite the opposite, they depict Jesus as a sorcerer, which was punishable by death. They call him other bad things, too. The point was that if Jesus didn't exist, those writers, more than likely, would have stated that, instead of calling Jesus a sorcerer and other bad things.

Most historical accounts of anybody's life or events is written some time after, not immediately. However the gospels are from the lifetimes of the apostles who wrote them.

Who on Earth determined that, I am wondering? Only a certain part of what Josephus said in one his writings was thought to be embellished by a later Christian writer. Even so, it is still up for debate. Josephus wrote more about Jesus than that one part which was up for debate.
