Considering we use algorithms in cubing to solve them, and use algorithms in math for the same purpose, we technically could say that solving the cube is math.
@Imaltont
@Imaltont 7 ай бұрын
The entire puzzle and the solutions falls within discrete mathematics, set theory and combinatorics in particular. You're not really thinking actively that what you're doing is mathematics usually though, and especially if you haven't encountered the relevant sub fields to any degree, but it isn't wrong to say that it is.

Parity, surely?
@Kasiarzynka
@Kasiarzynka Жыл бұрын
It's not even a parity thing, pretty sure there is no parity issues on a 3x3. Afaik this can happen if you're solving really fast and randomly twist it during an algorithm, but I'm not fast enough a solver to do it
@desmondschneider5397
@desmondschneider5397 Жыл бұрын
@@Kasiarzynka There are. If you twist a corner, solving it will leave a corner twisted. If I scramble a cube, it can always be solved. If I twist a corner, it’s impossible without retwisting it. This can be further confirmed by the Bluetooth cube. If I twist a corner, I will not be allowed to calibrate it like that. It’ll say “Oops, looks like a corner has been twisted!” And won’t be solvable until I twist the corner back and resolve it so I can calibrate it. 3x3x3 does have parity issues.

When I was a kid, I really believed that you have to be good in math to solve the rubiks cube lol, but not because of the term "algorithm" being also a math term, but because remembering algorithm is kinda same with remembering equations to me. Also I saw cubing the same way I saw math because both needs you to play within certain rules and there is just one absolute conclusion in evey situation or problem. I thought it'll be hard for me then cause I'm not good in math at all, instead I excel in arts which is kinda the opposite of math. But I guess I'm not so right as a kid, because now I can solve different cubes pretty decently although I'm still really stupid with math lol.

idk what it is but people have an irresistible urge to touch the things you own. Some ask, some don't, but for whatever reason there's always people who want to use your cube.

🤣🤣 I'm so protective of my cubes.. I have less expensive ones for other people to try. Don't touch my Gan 👀

0:45 A few months ago, my coworker tried to scramble my Super for me, but it basically just exploded all over the office due to my very loose setup.

Brooo, I’m a new cuber (I was motivated bc my friend got my class rubric cubes for Valentine’s Day) and have solved it 7 times! This is good, since I don’t think anyone in my fam can do it. I’ve memorized a couple algorithms. This vid triggered me.

I was really irritated once cause I had to explain someone that you can't solve a cube if one of the corners is twisted and he just thought I wasn't able to solve it the right way
