This is the game that the football fans of Cornwall have been waiting for. The climax of the season for both teams. Helston Athletic sit in second place, 3 points behind their visitors Falmouth Town but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference. 1700+ fans watched this game. Steve Massey is the match day commentator.

Record crowd entirely due to the Falmouth support. Without the ‘sugar daddy’ funding from Massey Helston would be nowhere.

Thanks for your comment Barrie. You are right on both counts. Falmouth are fortunate to have their F-Troop who comprise of supporters who have returned to the fold after a number of decades. I don’t know of a Cornish club that has been successful who has not relied on well remunerated players from across the Tamar.
