His name is Khalid Yaseen, he’s a revert too I think, from ny, my brothers father-in law grew up or hung around him in his youth. A lot of African Americans were first drawn to Islam through Nation of Islam, which was a semi militant nationalist group that used the civil rights movement to get followers. Then a lot of these people discovered true Islam, but they might still carry a tough nature from their pre-Islamic days. He’s very successful in getting people to revert because he speaks very straight forward without sugar coating.

Yes, I agree 100% with what your brother said, the first speaker/scholar did come across quiet direct and sharp in his tone. It's basically their passion spilling over after years and years of studying. It does put me off too. I think in this new era we live in, this needs to be recognised by such speakers as it will help many connect to his message. Your brother gets it - I understand as psychology and working with children and that how you communicate is important. Yes thats why Allah calls upon His creations in two ways, either through the nice things and makes people comfortable to understand, and Allah also create the hard way because some people understands after hards things fall onto them.. Allah is all-knowing and knows best His best creations ^^ that people learn in different ways. I agree each preacher/shaykh/imam has a different style and some are a little more direct than others. It can be hard to teach a non Muslim about Islam, but it’s great that you can openly discuss it with each other! Great video!
