The Jews knew that there were other Prophets called the son of God in their Scripture and they never made claims like this to those Prophets. But they didn't want to accept Jesus's message so they were trying to find a reason to kill him. And this makes it obvious that a man claiming to be God was punishable by death. But Jesus clearly told them he himself can do nothing. And he only did the will of his Father. And Jesus made sure to even say if he speaketh of himself then he would be seeketh his own glory. And we know Jesus never spoke from himself he only does the will of the Father nothing he did was from his own will. But the Jews didn't want to accept Jesus so they made false claims against him. Jesus actually was very clear he made clear statements like in John 17: 3 And this is life eternal that they might know thee the ONLY true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. Jesus was clear that the Father is the ONLY true God. Only means ONLY there is no room for anyone else to be included in this statement. But many ignore the word only and include Jesus anyway why? Because of ambiguous verses like the Father and I are one and before Abraham was I am. Think about it is saying the Father and I are one or saying before Abraham was I am actually Jesus saying he is God? Because if he is saying he is God why would he say The Father is the ONLY true God? The Father and I are one definitely has to be one in purpose not him physically being one with God. Because Jesus says he doesn't do his own will so that means whatever God's purpose is he has that same purpose because he was sent to do the will of the Father not his own will. So the Father and Jesus are one in that purpose. It can't be in the physical sense because the Father is greater than Jesus and the Father is greater than all. Also the Father only knows the hour. Only means ONLY again Jesus doesn't know it and will never know it because ONLY the Father knows it. Oh and John 1:1 is another reference Christians say must be Jesus and God has to be the same. But Jesus says in John 8: 42. Jesus said unto them If God were your Father ye would love me for I proceeded forth and came from God neither came I of myself but He sent me. In John it is made to seem like Jesus was there as the word and the word was God. But Jesus clearly says he came from the Father and did not come of himself. So hiw did Jesus create anything when he himself was sent by God having not his own will? How can he be fully God but does not have his own will and is dependent on the Father. The Father created the heavens and the earth. When Jesus says he came not of himself but he came from God that sent him that means he does the will of God just like all the other Prophets. This contradicts what it says in John 1:1 because Jesus didn't create anything he himself was created and sent to do the will of the Father.
