It was kind of funny when it was happening but also yeah both probably uncomfortable for some of the girls on it and insulting to those that didn’t make it, I’d imagine

The fact that my friends keep shipping me with my gay best friend is just so we’re like does leave me and my gay best friend alone in peace we could be weird wherever we want to be and they keep shipping us because like were “to close” for each other business but like I feel uncomfortable being shipped with a gay person because first of all they’re not my type they’re gay second of all, I only have a crush on someone that is not gay or if it’s a girl that is lesbian, I have a crush on them. And the fact that these accounts exist really makes me getting on my nerves because like it makes me feel uncomfortable when they ship me to a person that is gay and I do not like it if it’s a boy and they’re gay and they ship me with him. It’s over like I would tell that account that that’s not true and I will tell them that they’re gay because I know that they’re gay because they told me that they’re gay and they’re my best friend.

Same happened to me in middle school. Me and a guy liked each other until everyone started shipping us and it got awkward, so we only really spoke to each other on the phone every day after school. Eventually he stopped coming to school for unrelated reasons. I used to wonder what it would've been like if that hadn't happened and we had gotten together, until he reached out to me years later trying to weasel in between me and my current b. He was telling me how he's possessed by a demon and that if the police didn't give his rightfully impounded truck back he was going to barge into the pound and beat them all up 💀💀💀 Now I realize everything happens for a reason cus I have an amazing, non-drug dealer guy in my life now LMAO On another side of the coin, me and another friend of mine were actually really close, but completely platonically. I used to tickle him and he would get me back with his sharp wit. People started shipping us because we were both short... And it made us drift apart for a bit. I don't think I'll ever be as close to him as I used to, because the shipping made us both uncomfortable, but we were luckily still friends for years after that. I still think he is important to me, but we don't talk much now that high school is over and he has all these cool college friends LOL

My school had this happen! It was a disaster, everyone was being put with everyone, and I'm pretty sure at one point it put a student with a teacher... or two teachers, I don't remember. Anyway, it existed for like three years, but people forgot about it after the first few months. It eventually got reported, and the school intervened, threatening to go through everyone's instagrams (which they couldn't do, that's over a hundred phones). The creator deleted all the posts, but still their identity was never found...
