Apparently the actor playing Thaddeus is 42 yo. He looks more like mid-20's which is probably why they cast him as a Squire.

Their outsider perspective is so fun to see. Them not knowing how big a deal it is that Shady Sands is gone or not recognizing the Vault-tec logo in front of the building is just funny to see.

1:06 guys after a few drinks 😂 2:00 despite them starting to bond last episode and doing it even more at the start of this one, you see just how indoctrinated they are in this scene - Thaddeus turned against Maximus the moment he saw his face. 4:55 this scene is so well done - you can see just how reticent Lucy is to trust Maximus, after everything she's been through. She finally learned to be more cautious. 5:55 excellent way to start their partnership, with a lie. A lot of people don't like Maximus' character but the truth is, he's just like us, if we'd be in his situation. It goes to show how much people dislike looking in the mirror. 8:53 excellent comment from you, Magy - Maximus doesn't only have problems, he doesn't really have the authority to enforce the deal either. Squires are treated like shit, we've seen it in previous episodes. 10:20 this dialogue between Davey and Reg is hilarious on one hand but on the other hand, it shows just how guillable people are, no thought process, no critical thinking. 12:30 good catch there - every Overseer in Vault 33 came from Vault 31. 13:20 Lucy's vault-behaviour and way of thinking came back in full force for this scene, to their detriment. Luckily, Maximus knew exactly how the surface world works. 16:42 great question, Magy - do they actually know that or are they just repeating what they've been told? 17:55 keep this scene in mind, the conversation about Shady Sands. It's important and not just because it shatters Lucy's whole belief system in the Vault. Titus also confirms he's originally from Shady Sands. 21:50 what a crazy unsettling scene, seeing Vault 32 so clean and ready to be repopulated when just last episode (maybe a day before in the show's universe time) it looked so terrible. The song choice is perfect, as usual. 23:25 another very important scene to keep in mind. 24:50 perfect cliffhanger to end the episode on! 25:28 in Lucy's defense, she doesn't seem to know what we, the viewers know. Like we've seen this episode, only Norm and Chet discovered the truth or at least a part of it, for now. 27:10 Good catch there, Magy, the father would make sense to know. He was an overseer and Norm saw that his father also came from Vault 31. The logical conclusion is that people from Vault 31 know what is going on. This post reaction discussion has been nothin short of amazing, loved every second of it. You drew a lot of interesting conclusions. Thank you for the epic reaction ❤

That town of Shady Sands was a very important setting in the first Fallout games. It was the Capitol of the NCR ( New California Republic ) Seeing it bombed to a crater is kind of a big deal.

To be fair you ladies should have seen the Thaddeus betrayal coming from a mile away. A guy who has punched and stomped you for a good portion of your life suddenly feels bad about the way they're treated you AFTER they believe you're dead only to switch back to being a jerk the moment they realize you're alive? I mean come on... I would have at least had a gun in my hand while making that reveal to the squire lol 🤷🏾‍♂🤣😂

You know what else was interesting about that scene? the stuff Maximus was yelling at Thaddeus as Thaddeus ran away. Max sounded like the original Titus.

betrayal? Maximus stole a power armor and tried to stole a knight identity. Let the power go to his head and treated Thaddeus like shit. Despite all that, Thaddeus didn't say shit and endured because thats how it is in the Brotherhood, ready to die for his knight on his word. Yall act as if Maimus is a saint when he did nothing but lie to everyone face and being drunk with power. As if he wasnt going to let Vault 4 dies off because "my armor don't work if i don't keep the power core that i stole from them" if it was not for Lucy.And when he saw that Thadeus wasnt going to lie for him in order to save him life, the first reaction Maximus had was trying to kill him only to get fucked in the ass by a dude that have no power armor and armed with a wrench. Maximum is incompetence incarnated, only saved by plot armor.

All the vault are not the same there is control vaults where people are mostly coming from the government and the big companies, in each vault there is 1000 people. Experimental vaults have been given to the big companies to make some experimentations that they supervised from control vaults. That was how it was supposed to work but when the bombs fell many of this vaults lose contact and were isolated, so some experimental vaults went horribly wrong. The Enclave was also checking these vaults and "clean" them after the war like we can see it in Fallout 2.

Well the control vaults were supposed to see what would happen if they did what they claimed without extra meddling. Try to keep a population thriving for generations to emerge later. Even a control data set is an experiment however!

Its probably a miracle in both the TV show and in the games, that there a surface dwellers who are not ghouls after 200 years. The constant exposure to radiation fallout would theoretically ghoulify all surface dwellers or kill them. Perhaps the non-ghouls are descendants of former vault dwellers who had left their vaults in search of food. Such a thing occurred with one of the Vaults from FO4, though it never said what became of them.

Potentially more explainable with the existence of Rad-Away and to a lesser extent, Rad-X. Initial survivors are probably from country areas where bombs didn't fall, near chem factories perhaps. Even playing in Boston, Vegas, DC, there are large pockets of the place with no radiation above background, but that's after a good deal of time has passed. Extrapolate that back to the beginning and possibly small town areas that may have been too small to bomb might have been like that earlier. Water supplies that aren't too bad. Purification systems. People would eventually gravitate back to city areas, they have the biggest water supplies, the best hinterland areas, rich scavenging, all of that. You're right though, survival through the initial decades in terms of radiation exposure, food problems, all supply chains grinding to a halt would be the exception rather than the norm.

So I’m watching this at the same rate you guys are I think. I’ve been a fan of the series for a while now. The vaults are all social experiments run by Vault Tec. A handful are control vaults, no experiments. But the other 90% are all twisted. I feel like Stephanie knows something about 31 with that mashed potato comment

Maximus: "The bombs fell when I was a kid". So that would make Max over 200 yo. Was it the fridge that had preserved him? I think Max must be referring to a different bombing, and not to the one in 2077. Evidently a more recent bombing.

Isn't this the best retelling of The Wizard of Oz I mean you got the Scarecrow that doesn't have a brain and talks about how he's not smart the Tin man that doesn't seem to have a heart but falls in love and the Cowardly Lion who said he was too afraid to go outside the vault while everyone fights over a magical item with immense power that by happenstance of Dorothy being thrown into a weird and wacky world that she doesn't understand it makes you wonder who's behind the curtain

Hi Magy, your reactions are great, but the green metallic background seems to be giving your camera some issues. It keeps switching focus from the background to you, so you keep going in and out of focus. Is there any way you can set the focal length on the camera so that doesn't happen? It's VERY distracting.

@@zachl3402 I think so. She appears to be familiar with the T60, so after establishing he can’t move, she’d still be in a good position to negotiate, she doesn’t want to be alone and he’s the only “friendly” face she “knows”.
