My pops told me when he went to go see his frat brothers run a track meet at FSU that Prime had a baseball game a field over. He said he saw him jump the gate check in for relay in FULL baseball uniform and blew those guys out the water. Then he hopped back over the gate and hit a HR an inning or 2 later. My dad still talks about that and how amazed everybody was because he did it so effortlessly.

I was there that day myself, it was the conference championship track meet at FSU, I was a jumper for Memphis State. He did it just like that, and handily beat some very fast people who were dedicated track stars. I won’t ever forget that one myself.

One point though Just to clarify I remember he did jump over fence in his baseball uniform, but quickly changed into track uniform and shoes for the 100, quickly changed and went back for the baseball game. At least how I remembered the conference meet if that was the one. It was so cool to see him do that

Watching Deon run the bases in person was amazing. When he hit a triple he never rounded the bases, he made sharp cuts like he was running a pass pattern in football. He easily turned what for most would be a double into a triple. A unique once-in-a-century athletic talent.

I saw him hit a pop fly in the minors in a game in OKC. By the time the ball landed he was already passing 3rd bass. I remember a gasp coming over the crowd. Talk about speed!!!

One of the most unique players to ever play in the NFL. He had a unique stance, very low to the ground, from which he could rotate and burst in any direction. He could cover anywhere on his half of the field. So no one threw to his side because he could always get there before the ball did. He nearly eliminated the passing offense on HALF the field. Phenomenal hands too. Not a trash talker either. Wide receivers would report that he would actually give them tips during the game. That's confidence. Never be another.

We’ll probably never see another athlete like Prime because of the AAU style sports where kids play a single sport nearly year round... in years past, guys played every sport they could.. he’s definitely 1 of a kind

The thing that is surprising is what a great teammate he was. From all I have read he would come into a locker room to a new team and guys would be skeptical of his attitude. In no time he won everyone over and made the team better not only from his play on the field. The most amazing player I ever watched.

He only ran 4.7, but he could run 4.7 for 4 quarters, every play. That, and he was a master technician of a route runner, and had a genius level football IQ

Had a chance to see Deion hit a home run against the Rockies. It was the Rockies first year and they were playing in Mile High Stadium. He hit a ball that rolled all the way to the wall right in front of where we were sitting in the "Rock Pile" ($1 seats in the outfield) When the ball hit the wall, I looked up and Prime was already almost to 3rd base. Crazy fast, inside-the-park home run.... standing up. Never forget it.

It's insane to me that someone got a nickname like 'Prime Time' in high school and not only lived up to, but exceeded the hype in many ways. The man literally won back to back Super Bowls with different teams and won DPOY for the first one. Deion Sanders is a peak human being.

His TD punt return vs redskins when he texas stadium when he for booed for going to the locker room. Hurt. Deion had the best recovery speed in NFL history. It was like he was letting the WR get by him or purpose to bait the QB into throwing, then he closed the gap and broke the pass up or intercepted it.

Problem was Bo was taking the hits at RB while Prime was pacing himself at CB and not a great tackler but knew how to lengthen his career. If Prime were a running back like Bo he would not have lasted long.

Colts going to Indianapolis and keeping the records and stats they had in Baltimore is completely different. Baltimore has 3 Superbowl wins and one loss to be technical. The Baltimore colts won one and lost one and ravens won 2 but Indianapolis claims the colts stats and history.

My nickname was “prime time” in HS…bcuz I had 8 picks in one season…3 for pick 6…however, I didn’t know he got his nickname from basketball…I got my nickname from the great Deion….he was truly inspirational and impacted the game like the great Lester Hayes did….he was a pure lockdown CB with the God given ability to return punts with an unpredictable impact…that in itself is truly inspiring..as a multi player athlete il proud that my teammates nicknamed me after such an inspirational player..I’m very excited to see him progress as a coach now!!!

Oh man, let me tell you about Deion Sanders! That guy was an absolute legend on the field. I mean, talk about speed, agility, and pure finesse - he had it all. Whether it was football or baseball, Prime Time showed us how it's done. No doubt, he's one of the all-time greats! 🏈⚾🔥

I was never a big Braves fan, but can vividly recall a sequence from a game in the early 1990's that showed the type of player Deion was. He took first base (can't recall if he got the hit or was walked). He then stole 2nd base. And then stole 3rd base. And, wouldn't you know it, he also stole home. I have never seen anything like it before or since.

In the span of a year I watched him play against the Bengals in football, then again in baseball with the Reds. He had a smoothness to his run that is hard to describe. Just looked different from everyone else on the field.

Deion sanders was a very unique and interesting talent.. dual professional athlete and was extremely successful in everything he did. What a blessing to watch . Also he played for ALL the greatest teams (ATLANTA FALCONS. ATLANTA BRAVES. DALLAS COWBOYS. SAND FRANCISCO 49ERS And excelled IN all of them. He was the ALL STAR of the ALL STARS... ot really doesn't get any better

He really was one of my favorite guys in his own ways to help others ❤️ get better in all area's because he give others the best path to make opportunity pay off because his love of compassion to help with his own experience of existence examples of being first to used answers in a system he made in dealing with outside situations

He always made it look easy and he was having fun. Never heard him be nasty or trash talk anybody. He is still that same way now as a coach. He must have had a good upbringing. It's just charisma and confidence not arrogrance. He was named Prime Time because it was an earned nickname not one that he chose himself. The light was on then and now. Keep helping young men develop into good athletes and good grown me too.

I'll never forget how much in awe i was of how Deion would stance when he'd line up against the opposing WR. It was like deion was the receiver when he'd stetch his leg out like he did. Never seen anyone do that before.
