Can you rig the gain up to the bias t (on SDR hardware that is equipped) to control it with software or make it an external AGC with a microcontroller??

3 power options, most will use Bias Tee, so not really an issue is it.

USBC is more expensive as there are licensing costs and chips cost more

Good question. I normally only buy USB cables that have three pigtails on the other end - USB-C, Micro-USB and Lightning. That way, I can power most things.

@@Spookieham what licensing costs are there for USB-C that there aren't for other USB ports? You can use exactly the same chips. Just change the connector.

As with most mfg, parts cost are always considered, usually the cost of a generation old socket mount is cheaper, and the supplied cable cheaper.

Quick question, what was the SDR's gain set to before the LNA was turned up?

You can see this on screen on the SDR software, top left. AGC turned off and gain all the way down.
