Can I somehow add wind force from side to move those particles horizontal in opposite side?

Is there any way to add particles bounce each other when they touch others?

Tried to recreate it using Circle and Grid SOP instead of GLSL, and some displacement TOPs and there's no way for me to do it. So... great tutorial, man! Thank you very much!!

Thanks, you can do it using grid SOP->SOPtoCHOP->CHOPtoTOP. Using GLSL and UV is just a shortcut ;)

This is sick! Thanks so much! One question, when I plug in the mousein CHOP and reference to centre of circle2, my cursor seems to be offset quite far to the left (cannot get tx to be greater than -1 while furthest to the right). must be a simple mistake, should not have to use the math CHOP I would think?

Thanks! Mouse In CHOP outputs mouse position on entire TD window. Should be alright if you enter the performance mode. You can also checkout the "Output Coordinates" parameter. It's "Normalized Aspect" by default, you can set it to "Absolute" to see actual values in px.

Hi thank you for this tutorial, is it possible to move the dots with camera movements ? (withtout a kinect :/)

yes! try putting a threshold on your videodevicein (set the soften parameters as you want) and maybe put it through a blur top and then a sharpen operator (from the pallete) as needed in order to make it more uniform and less edgy. alot depends upon the lighting but there are good tutorials for making your webcam behave like a kinect. multiple ways to achieve this kind of effect

at 0:19 I am unable to connect "transform 1" to "geo 1" and I'm not sure why, I would appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks for the video!

You have to create geometry comp by middle-clicking on the output pin of the transform SOP and then selecting Geometry comp from the operator list. Another option is to go inside the geo comp, add both, In and Out SOPs manually and then activate purple(render) and blue(display) dots on the output operator. Going with the middle-click is just a shortcut.

Hello, awesome tutorial but when I make the glsli resolution 50x50, I have a square but not dots. What may I be missing? :/
