This and The Distinguished Gentleman are Eddie Murphy's most underappreciated movies. Not enough movies have the balls to prioritize laughs over everything else like Norbit because that usually gets a movie critically panned

Norbit is essentially a lesson to men to not marry some extremely bossy woman. If you watched old school Eddie Murphy stand up comedy, he has brought this up. Matter of fact, you guys should react to old school Eddie murphy comedy shows!

She's not just bossy, Rasputia is an narcissistic, abusive, gaslighting bully who took advantage of Norbit's vulnerabilities and insecurities to control him. I love this film because Norbit learns to stand up for himself against his abuser.

He is just walking on eggshells for Rasputia. It's shown that the only person who stuck up for him was Rasputia all those years and basically adopted him into her family. You see that a lot in things like gangs, they give their lives and feel obligated to stay with them.

The cuba Gooding movie you're talking about is Men of Honor with Robert Deniro. And yes, he did win awards for his role and do did deniro. It's an excellent movie and it's based on a true story. The movie Radio is also excellent and i think he got an award for that as well and it's also based on a true story. This are 2 Cuba Gooding movies that you should definitely see. And i forgot his first major hit movie was Boyz N Da Hood.

I first saw this movie as a kid with my younger brother and dad~! XD It was hilarious, indeed! But also really freaking depressing at times. Honestly, Eddie Murphy did well in blending comedy with tragedy.

38:58 OOOOOHHHH SHINTO!!!Norbit could’ve messed his back up, a slipped disc, and a concussion and he’ll be in the hospital for months and Rasputia could go to jail and also for having acid to possibly murder Kate she goes to jail for life and her brothers could be an accessory to the fact that
