Those are called stabilizers some call them birds or fish. They kept the boat from rolling so much this is a displacement hull which is very nice limited on speed. A true displacement hull just moves the water out of the wAy as it goes through it. A semi displacement hull rides up on top of the water or planes sime

like plainers. they dive easily, but resist coming up. one on each side fight against rolling motion.

Their build quality is no different to any other of the many Chinese built fiberglass trawlers. They are well equipped though but most professional crew/skippers will tell you that they're very overpriced for what they are.

Dr Dank I'm not saying they're not. Just there are a lot built as well, if not better I've worked on (worked on Nordhavns as well) that are far better value. GRP tech has advanced to such a stage it's incredible how tough you can built a boat to the point I see very little advantage over a steel or alloy plate boat for the same segment of the market. But Nordhavns are the most mass produced, over priced because they have a flashy sales pitch and very pseudo-commercial aspects which is the heart of the product. In my humble opinion anyway.

"Mass built" as in built to design, interiors etc are flexible but the hulls and superstructure are all to design. They're spec boats. Nordhavn do not build their boats - they're built by Chinese yards that are building under license. Which company are you talking about? Because the yard(s) building Nordhavns will, and do, build other boats. Nordhavn as a company is a design office and a sales division, not a shipyard. They'll commission a build easily I'd imagine. If you can "hardly get one built" then that's an internal issue because there are a lot of trawlers being pumped out of yards.
