The NordicTrack EXP 14i is at the top of NordicTrack’s EXP Series of treadmills. The EXP Series is NordicTrack’s lower-end and most affordable lineup of treadmills. We are impressed with the overall quality of the EXP 14i.
The deck folds up to save space and there are transport wheels to move the treadmill around. The steel frame and uprights make the EXP 14i feel stable. We like the steel crossbar that is under the storage tray below the console. This helps hold the console in place when you’re running and adds to the overall quality of the EXP 14i.
The weight limit is 300 lbs which is consistent with other NordicTrack treadmills. It is best for users up to that limit. The NordicTrack EXP 14i can handle all levels of use thanks to the powerful 3.5 CHP motor. The motor is quiet and responsive, too. The incline function is a little louder than other treadmills we’ve tested from NordicTrack, but the EXP 14i should still work in most home spaces.
The cushioning is soft underfoot for nice shock absorption and it is adjustable. There are blue knobs under the deck that you can turn to switch for a softer or firmer running surface. In our testing though, we didn’t notice much of a difference between the two.
The 12% incline and -3% decline make for a versatile training experience to work all the muscles in your lower body. The EXP 14i is also easy to use and great for interval training because of the added quick-touch buttons on the console.
iFit is enabled on the 14” touch screen with a monthly subscription. iFit comes free for the first month with the purchase of the EXP 14i. iFit offers thousands of guided workouts that are on-demand and filmed indoors and outdoors. We highly recommend checking out iFit for a highly engaging training experience. Plus, with every iFit class, the treadmill adjusts automatically to match the format of the class and terrain if it is filmed outside. This makes for hands-free training.
Overall, we’re impressed with the NordicTrack EXP 14i and we’re pleased that it offers similar training features as higher-end treadmills from NordicTrack.
