I've now owned the nordictrack rower since december. The ifit app is awesome, the integration is great. The rower, however, is awful. My strap has so far broken. A bearing on the flywheel has frozen. Each thing that breaks will have nordictrack sending the part to you, typically 7-14 days and then the technician will contact you within 10 days. Then the technician will come at their next available time. So expect your rower to be out of service for 1-1.5 months every time something goes wrong. Now that I had the technician leave after replacing the frozen bearing, I have a new noise from the strap and the rower doesn't recognize that I'm rowing - as in it doesn't tell me any metrics, doesn't tell me any distance, etc. I loved this rower the first 2 months, now after giving it the benefit of the doubt and trying to get it fixed, I'm discovering it's just going to constantly be in a state of needing repair. I have spent so much time taking this rower apart and troubleshooting it. I recommend you stay away from this rower.

My RW900 is awful as well... Tech Support, Premium Warranty and Maintenance is a joke! Wish I could return mine but their tech support and premium warranty delays their replies until you're out of the return policy! Buyer Beware!

i got a Nordictrack X22i Incline treadmill and love it. I can take runs around the world, and even map my own runs anywhere - around central park for example and it automatically adjusts the incline for the hills as if i was there along with Google street-view video. Awesome devices. Loving it

Hey Justine ! That’s so cool, I used to be a competitive rower but I had to stop because of school (I don’t finish til four) and I can no longer attend my practices but ur form looks great ! The couple tips that I’d give would be to make sure to extend ur arms over ur legs before bending ur knees, and the same goes when u push, extend ur legs first before tilting ur upper body back and then bending ur arms, arms always go first but come back last.

@@iJustine I'd suggest maybe looking up some of the rowing machine tutorial videos on the Dark Horse Rowing channel. They really break the whole stroke down to the basics :) I hadn't been near a rowing machine in years and while I had it mostly down it helped me adjust a few things that were a bit off in my stroke.

If you’re going to go with a connected rower Hydrow is a great choice. I love mine! If going non-connected then Concept 2 IMO.

I think NordicTrack and the iFit system are great, not only for rowing but treadmills too. I’m looking forward to exploring the strength training and yoga options as well.

I have the RW500, which is the exact same machine, but came with a 7" tablet, and a more traditional base computer vs. relying solely on the large tablet display. My only complaint is that there is a rubbing noise that occurs in about 1/100 units (or so I've been told by Nordictrack). They sent me multiple replacement wheels, none of which worked. Months later I found a youtube video showing how to adjust the magnet that's causing the rub, and it fixed my issues.

I bought a indoor bike two months ago but it is sadly already broken. Now I need to look for a other one. 😊 I also bought weights and so on and dedicted my attic to training.. I was doing so little movement anymore because of corona that I decided I had to change it.

I finished out the year with a half marathon after my race in San Francisco this summer was cancelled 😢 I think this year I want to work up to being able to comfortably do a half marathon as one of my 'longer' runs as I work up to a full marathon!

Nice to see you rowing. Just so don't hurt yourself, there are a couple of things that could help with your form. It will also make rowing easier. Make sure to drive with your legs and keep your arms extended. Try to keep your your upper body at a 1 o'clock angle and only bend back to an 11 o'clock angle after you have extended your legs. Then finish with the arms. Then reverse the process with the key being let your arms almost fall so your not keeping them held out and let the handle cross your knees before coming up with your legs. That saves on energy and helps recovery. I've been watching @TrainingTall on YT and he has a ton of good tips to help on your rowing journey. Keep it up!

FYI - if you'll be lifting, horse stall mats are a great and affordable option that provide a sound foundation to lift on.
