Thanks for sharing. I really like the Chinese 56 and it's actually one of my nicest AK's which is strange since China floods us with so much junk. A type 56 AK as issued generally did not have the threaded barrel or AKM comp on it so this one is perfectly setup for originality. Mine is a "blue bolt" Min Shan factory built from the early 80's.

Hi! The wooden stock one is the regular Type 56; the one with the foldable stock is the Type 56-1 and the civilian/export version of that one (the one in this video) is called Type 56-1S. I think it's well worth the money. It's pretty cheap, shoots well and doesn't need a lot of maintenance.

I remember the days when these were considered "junk" and nobody wanted them.

Very nice example. Got one myself aswell, however mine is a military production one and not civilian like yours is. mine's a Factory 66, early to mid 70's produced. Came from a warehouse in Yugoslavia, and has been beaten up quite a bit! butt end of the folding stock is in the white due to use, rest of the gun is also very heavily worn!

I still have hard times telling the difference between genuine AKs and T56. Unless I can see the front sight, that bayonet attachment still looks so similar when the bayonet isn't there...

Im 99% sure that is not original. The factory stamp was an oval 313, those are the ones with the illegal hole and it would have the import marks out of NY. It also has turned down threads. Looks to be a beautifully converted MAK90. Might also have been a 313 that got cut up and rebuilt legally. Looks nice tho!!
