Didn't even know he existed. I don't have a tv in my house. I was an actress who quit the business to raise my daughter when I was pretty young. I spent my last year in Toronto hanging out with Dan Aykroyd. I just discovered Norm last night. I have been watching his interviews for 24 hours! RIP, man.

So right about that. I can't really explain with words what I would give to have just had one conversation with Norm, in person, either hangin' out at his house or on whatever version of talk-show (I'm not famous so that one doesn't really work, but, regardless...), or anything really. They say to never meet your heroes, because you'll be disappointed is the implication, & that's true with most of my childhood/adolescent heroes (Maynard Keenan, Fat Mike, basically lots of musicians & actors), but I also liked Norm as a kid in the 90's, but I didn't start to recognize his talent for what it was until around 2015/2016. Anyway, I just don't believe I would regret having met him, & that's a rare thing. Thanks Norm.

Toms stutters a little bit and he's uncomfortable, but he did a great job on follow-up, staying on track and digging in on really interesting questions. You can tell he's not just interviewing Norm but genuinely trying to learn from him. Rip Norm by the way. Crazy how Tom honed in on Norm's obsession with death. Norm said you should pity people with cancer which is why he didn't want anyone to know about his. Really great interview.

Nah thats just how Tom is, i'm convinced he has ADHD, i'm from canada and live about 2 hours away from where he grew up and started watching his cable access show he did from his parents house shortly after he started it and he has always been like that, Tom has known Norm for a long time, they lived about a block away from each other for awhile when they were both much younger and Tom mentions meeting Norm when he was doing standup in Ottawa which was right at the start of Norm's career. There's another episode of Norm on Tom's last show before this one, i think it may have been called Tom Green Live as well or maybe Tom Green's House, and Norm brought his 2 sons with him to the show so Tom had them come sit up where Norm was and was telling one of them about meeting Norm when younger and how they used to live right by each other.

@@kayla7562 the tom green show wan't a podcast, it was a pre recorded cable access comedy filmed in his parents house, then the comedy network and then mtv, and based on late night talk shows like letterman but with far more skits and video pieces, he also had a live band each week from the ottawa area, my cousins band played about midway through the first season and that wasn't even the first cable access comedy talk show in Ontario, a friend of mine did one based on letterman 6 years earlier in 1988 called 6 o'clock with Siblock, Unless you meant tom greens house tonight, but that was 3 years after the first podcast and wasn't a podcast, and wasn't even the first internet show or live internet show, it was probably the first ever live internet call-in show though.

This man was and still is my hero, rolemodel, and one time email correspondence buddy. I told him on his official myspace that his sitcom was being uploaded in 8 min videos on youtube back in 2009 and that he might think about putting it on DVD. He thanked me and said he was sorry I was "going to go spend some time in the gray bar hotel", as I was due up in just a few days for a pretty goos bid in jail. When I was released almost a year later, I saw his sitcom on dvd by an official distribution company and will always wonder if I was part of the catalyst to that.
