Norma truly loved Norman. I don't care what anyone says, she was just a mother trying to save her child. She did her best with her past and pain she was given. She didn't always know what was right because she was done wrong but she tried. God knows she tried.

It starts before the kiss. It’s starts before the eyes moving around each others’ faces. It starts when she grabs that gun. That “whimper-y” voice while grabbing the back of his head, and explaining everything away as an act of him protecting her … that is the vulnerability that you show in a moment of recalling the time that you felt love. I don’t care what she says or how she justifies her motherhood, in that moment she actually loves the (good side of the) man he’s become

I didn't see it as twisted. In heat of the moment, everything was so intense. You could see the desperation in her eyes and how much she just wanted to prove to her child he was loved.
