I cannot put into words how good this was. I’ve never had this with a series before but I cannot stop thinking about it. Utterly utterly staggeringly amazing.

As a 57 year old , thoroughly enjoyed it, got caught up in the emotion as a lot of people mentioned. However, it also filled me with a deep sadness, that this burning intense excitement of discovering young love for the first time is but a distant memory and a once in a lifetime thing.

Honestly the best series ive ever watched it captivated me and had me thinking about it all day. I really felt my emotions being entwined with theirs every up and down I was right there with them feeling it

I watched the whole series twice in two days ,i"m a sucker for young love and great actors apart from a wonderful story.

The 1st scene i saw was in previews on yt the detention scene and that made me check this series out at 11 in the night. Compeleted this series in one go.... Now i am sleep deprived yet i dont feel guilt of missing my sleep and spending my whole next day in hangover of sleep and watching all the interviews and other stuff on youtube... One of the most epic series i have come across hands down!!

I totally agree with the comments below about the series. I binged on it over two days here in Scotland, and find myself thinking of the story and the complex characters. That they find love together and yet have the confidence in themselves and in each other for one to go and the other to stay is a testament to the strength of the love between them. I truly hope they come together after the year and stay together for the rest of their lives. A magical adaptation of the book.

Amazing series honestly it’s a must watch. Watched it all last night and it’s all I’ve been thinking about since. Really get to experience the whole story with the characters. I’m proud to be Irish at the moment!

Oh my god, I just completed the series Normal People. MIND IS BLOWN. It was so so good. No spoilers obviously but I laughed, cried(a lot) and at times was totally mesmerised not to mention absolutely cringing at the sex scenes. Which in my opinion meant it was a job well done. I felt like I was in the room with them at times. The acting was spectacular and to think the leading lady isn't even Irish. Her accent was without doubt the best I have seen on screen by an non Irish actor and lord knows we have had some dodgy ones. The whole thing was so close to the bone and it really got me thinking over the past 3 days as we binged watched all 12 episodes. It was gripping. They touched on so many Irish themes and important issues and gracefully depicted the struggles in the lives of young people in Ireland today yet it also felt timeless. Likewise, It wasn't so colloquial that they alienated other countries. It would easily translate to the rest of the world. As a girl who had her son at 18, my son is 20 now and I am 38 and being from a small town I felt so connected to the relationship with the young mother and adult son and it made me feel really good. Highly highly recommend. 👏👏👏

Watched it with my partner and she cried during every episode. Im 31 now and it took me back to when i was 15 and the intense feelings i had for a girl who felt the same. Unfortunately i broke it off as i was incredibly shy and anxious. If only i could go back.

I lived in Ireland a few years ago and since I left I have never stopped missing it.

Before the show, I knew absolutely nothing about Ireland. After watching the show, I can get to know more about Irish culture (especially slang). Come on Ireland, please make more shows. As a person who lives on the other side of the world, I would really wanna get to know more about Ireland and will definitely travel there one day.

As if I needed another reason to go to Ireland...

b.ding. This film production was outstanding. Sally Rooney must be thanked for writing an absorbing novel. I have read it twice now. So pleased that I watched the film production first, as the actors, who are so well cast, fit perfectly into the novel. Congratulations to both leads, Daisy and Paul who were superb in their respective roles. Their chemistry and understanding of the story was mesmerising to watch. The highs and lows so well performed. The supporting cast were also superb and contributed so well as the story evolves. The Directors and Production team share a great deal of credit for this production. The cinematography was extremely good. The music running through the story was haunting. Young actors with a promising future are often identified with a particular film which marks their debut. For Daisy and Paul, I think this production marks your debut. Because of the years that separate us, I may not see the accolades, which will surely come to both of you in the future. But I am very pleased that I was there to see your beginning

An absolutely incredible and moving story. Watched over the course of 48 hours and now my sister has lent me the book to read, which I've almost devoured. Also, being called Niall from Belfast made me feel like a character myself

I had a wonderful and unexpected 6 hour layover in Dublin where I walked through Trinity and went to see the Book of Kells. I wish I'd gotten a chance to see the beautiful countryside, I'm supposed to be in Sneem right now for a friend's wedding! I guess I'll have to settle for Discover Ireland videos for now...

Mescal has now spoken of his pride in his co-star after she was nominated for a Golden Globes award. He wrote, "“Could not be prouder of you my friend.” What a great guy! What a great couple they'd make!

Where is the beach in County Sligo, the village where the school and stadium are located, etc.? We just completed our second visit to Ireland last October, a 13-day tour clockwise from Dublin up to Galway, but no further on the Atlantic coast. We told ourselves we would return, next time from Shannon, back to Galway and up the northwest, always clockwise.
