It was almost 30 years ago in 1983 that I was first introduced to Dr. Peale. I was suicidal and was at an all-time low in my life. I was given a copy of YOU CAN IF YOU THINK YOU CAN. As I began to read it, I felt my vibration and my entire being change drastically for the better. By the by...Dr. Peale was inspired and mentored by Ernest Holmes and Dr. Peale himself credits Dr.Holmes as one of his earliest and greatest influences. Thanks for posting.

How refreshing, he put filling hearts ahead of his own gain. RARE!

I've always love Norman Vincent Peale. A long time ago I had to give a speech in a college class and I chose "the power of positive thinking". I based it on his book and also made copies of the scripture verse: "If you have faith, even as small as a mustard seed..." and taped a mustard seed to each copy and gave them to everyone in the class. The speech was well received. I remember thinking: "where am I going to get mustard seeds?" I ended up buying a jar of pickles to get the seeds!

If you look at Dr Peale in this video and see that he is quite lucid and alert for a man in his nineties, that's testimony to The Power of Positive Thinking.

"...we don't think a human personality can reach it's human potential unless it is touched by God and Jesus Christ who can make a man and a woman into what he or she is suppose to be..." Big, very Big!!!!

@Avitinyourface Yes, Dr. Peale was a Universalist. He believed that God expressed himself in many ways and "was too big to be strait-iacketed" by human made religions. (NVP on Phil Donahue Show-1984).
