The realism in this game is fantastic, drum mags, 20 shot Mauser rifles, Stg44s during D-Day. Oh yeah just like history taught us

I remember the very first mission on the original COD game.. man that was mind blowing. The graphics were nothing like I’d ever seen.

At least one thing going for this game.... instead of the realism ...... is how beautiful it looks.

The realism in this game is fantastic, receiving thousands of bullets without dying, the extremely fast constant reloading, down to the horrific friendly fire, Oh yeah just like history taught us

There's a fine line between intense and silly, and this intro crosses that line by the third time that a flaming C-47 almost hits you.

this mission was awesome, just wish things where more historically accurate that was the thing the bugged the sh*t out of me in this campaign because the visuals and sounds where incredible but the poor historical accuracy killed some of the immerision for me however this mission was still awesome. my great grandfathe was a british paratrooper in WW2. Was a POW in North Africa before escaping the camp and getting sent back to England and then being prepped for the d-day jump. He survived the war only to die to cancer in 98'. He also burnt his uniform after the war as his regiment was the british regiment that murdered innocent Irish Civilians in Belfast during bloody sunday ( Irish Catholic family)

man, for a game this good looking, I really wish the gameplay was up to par. You’re never discovered, you never die, one round to the chest sends the enemy flying backwards, ugh. I wish this was as hardcore as it’s looks make it seem.

Already looking forward to the next WWII era Call of Duty, where DEVGRU assaults Pointe du Hoc in the 160th SOAR's Stealth Blackhawks with Fortunate Son playing, and fights their way inland to within sight of the Viet Cong artillery pieces to lase them for JDAM strikes by UCAVs launched from the deck of the USS Truman. At the end of the mission, swelling orchestral music plays as General Schwarzkopf's voice reads out his inspiring D-Day address to the Allied troops, heralding the beginning of Europe's liberation from the forces of the evil Emperor Napoleon.

I didn’t realize you could see that some troops parachutes weren’t opening. Eerie to watch them plummet to the ground. Maybe this game is worth playing a second time to see if there are any other things like that

As a paratrooper I love the accuracy in even seeing a troopers parachute cigarette rolling on exit and falling faster than his fellow jumpers when he is looking in the sky,Accurate as shit

I’d love to see a game or a show see this operation from the German perspective. Had to be super scary not know if there’s a random enemy that dropped in the forest your searching through

Ok this game may not be very historically accurate but the games cutscenes were incredible and personally I thought the campaign was a lot of fun, I do understand why people dislike this one though.

cod campaigns always get trashed on but if you think about it, with the exception of a few, cod campaigns have always been engaging and interesting

I like how at the point where they take out the MG42 on the bridge the NPGs say "we made it!"...yeah, after Kingsley was shot like 50 times.

How many times have we invaded Normandy by now? Game devs need to take a page from 'The last Tiger'. Nobody turned into a nazi after playing it and it was cool to actually see a snippet of the other sides perspective.

Would love a more historic accurate game where you jump out of a c47 with 101st or 82nd US Airborne. Likely band of brothers as a game. I know we have seen ww2 and normandy quit a lot in the past, but I can't get enough of it.

It's a pretty game, I'll give it that. Could you imagine Call of Duty 1 and 2 remastered on this engine? One can only dream... I feel like they focused so much on the atmosphere and cinematics that it took away from the gameplay experience. It almost feels like you spend more time watching cutscenes than actually playing (Call of Duty WWII had that same problem as well). If you're going to do that, at least make the game true to history so that I can actually learn something, you know?

i like how when he got to the box of ammo, he said no to all the ammo but the single stripper clip worth (maybe 10 rounds) vs the 30ish or all the full boxes full of ammo

As historically inaccurate as this game is.. You can't deny that it's the most visually stunning CoD to ever release.

I can't imagine their bravery and sacrifice.

Of all the things I could mention, I'll keep it simple. The first troops to land on D day, were in a Horsa glider and had the element of surprise.. not a shot was fired until they attacked the guards of what has since been called 'Pegasus bridge' in honour of the British Airbourne.

yeah i was done with this game when i saw them load a kar98k by pushing the entire stripper clip into the magazine. when you're buying a game for this much money you expect a certain level of quality, and when that quality is absent in the form of something the company got right for the past 20 years, there is a problem
