We had a wonderful time in Normanton and Karumba. Some folks told us that there was nothing to do in Normanton, we had a busy couple of days, we went to the Burke and Wills Camp 119, we visited the railway museum and Gulflander train (very historical) and enjoyed the township.
Off to Karumba - dirt or sealed roads!!! we were told both - well we are delighted to let you know it is sealed all the way. The only road with any changes is from Croydon to Undarra (single lane roads and single lane bridges - every so often).
Karumba is on the Normanton River - near where the rivers joins the Gulf of Carpentaria (ocean), we wandered and chilled out here, no swimming for the crocodiles are very active here.
Did a Barramundi Feeding Tour and that was interesting and fun.
Take care until next time.
