I grew up in Lumberton. If you had kept straight and had not turned right, to go to Martin Luther Drive. You would see some of the worst areas hit by the storms. Many regions of Lumberton were completely underwater. Crime has always been bad there but has gotten worse over the years. However, some wonderful people still live there. I moved from the area but still live in the beautiful state of NC.

I work in medicine and traveled there to work. Lots of the older folks were extremely sweet but illiterate and just living in poverty. The younger generation is much different. I’ve lived all over the country and a common theme is politicians. I’m an independent and have no desire to be party affiliated but blue cities are just cesspools. I got out of my last blue city in 2020. The violent crime is just crazy and it seems like nobody cares or wants to fix the problem.

Be careful out there, JLR… please! You know how the famous saying goes!?… that you can’t always judge a book by its cover!?? Yes… so, the town sign is very nice & the town “looks” pretty safe- as you have pointed out to us. As you were driving through the town and noting how nothing really looks that bad to you- then asking us what we all 🤔 think…hmmm, so I would then, answer you like this… Yes, JLR, there’s obviously a reason it’s labeled to be just so extremely dangerous and I probably wouldn’t question that too much (especially as a woman, if”I” was driving around)! Guys have to be careful, too, but I’m just saying that I don’t think anybody should be driving around - purposely trying to find the danger that’s “hidden within” that town! Please be careful, Jonathan- that’s all I mean by that… your audience members care about your safety and well-being! That’s for sure! It’s “marked” dangerous for a good reason. You’re a highly intelligent guy… Probably much better to research the danger ⚠️ zones there before driving directly into them- unknowingly-& catch yourself in a sticky situation!! In certain neighborhoods, all you have to do is simply to be wearing the wrong color of a shirt, or clothing (unknowingly) to be shot at, etc…. Not trying to sound paranoid or strange here, and it’s quite unfortunate, but this “WORLD” anymore (in general) should be labeled a very “dangerous place”. Just don’t want you looking for trouble in that dangerous city and actually find it!! We ALL care about you, appreciate your hard work ethic and value listening to the wonderful awareness you bring to all cases- the ancient-old and the brand-spanking new cases, just the same! Take care … be safe… we need you!

My name is Jamie by the way. I am the owner of the RDC...anyway I live in Fayetteville, NC and if you want a case that has not been solved and is still open, look into the Brittany Locklear Case out of Raeford, NC (Hoke County). This happened back in the mid 90's I believe. She was a 5yr old little girl that was abducted from her bus stop which was at the end of her driveway. She was found the next morning in a ditch about a mile from her home. She had been raped and drowned. To this day a black cloud hangs over that County.
@sonlecota8 ай бұрын
He covered that case several months ago. Hard to believe its never been solved.
@richarddawsonchannel8 ай бұрын
@@sonlecota I hope he continues to shine light on it. It's been 25 years, and that case still haunts this community. I live off of HWY 401 about 15 miles going the other direction from where Brittany lived. This area is very rural. It had to be someone familiar with the back roads around here and that area. Some even feel it was someone she knew but it has never been proven. It could have been a soldier stationed here at Ft. Bragg. I love our military, but these bases bring in a lot of rift raft. Most of Fayetteville's major cases have consisted of military members or their family. I have even reached out to Cold Justice to look into this case but haven't heard anything yet. This little girl deserves justice.

I live and grew up in Fayetteville. Dateline has done at least 4 episodes in Fayetteville that I can recall off of the top of my head. 1.) Kellie Bordeaux - was a female Ft. Bragg soldier that went missing and was found dead. 2.) Danielle Locklear - 16 yr old female killed by her 17 yr old boyfriend. 3.) Michelle Theer - she was a woman that plotted with her lover to kill her husband. Her Husband was a Captain in the US Air Force and her lover was a Sargeant in the Army. 4.) Joan and Elizabeth Shannon - Mother and 15 yrd old daughter plotted to kill David Shannon, Joan's husband and Elizabeth's Stepfather. I believe there are more but my brain is tired, lol.

It's a secret ploy to alert non-residents of the areas to avoid. Wish Google Maps would get their act together, and start saying stuff like, On second thought, don't turn here, dangerous area. Take this route instead. 😜

Exactly. I think it cost a lot of businesses to close and a lot of houses too flood and cause a lot of people to lose their homes and it was a very sad situation.

I’m from Lumberton NC and have lived in Lumberton my whole life with the exception of the time I served in the Military. Believe me when I tell you that if my parents and grandmother were not still living here I absolutely would not be residing here. Drugs and homelessness is rampant and our corrupt local politicians aren’t doing enough. The only local politician that cares about our community is our Sheriff but one person can’t fix everything. Law enforcement is understaffed and the school system is underfunded. For everyone’s safety if you are passing through Robeson County while traveling DO NOT stop here.

Thanks for the advice. My parents used to like stopping there on the way from Florida to hit the Western Sizilin on 95. Not sure if they're still there.

Hi so not gonna lie im from the area and I watched your video curiously. U went the wrong way. East Lumberton and on back behind the court house .. is rough even during the day in my opinion ... and its all the above unsolved cases crimes drugs is among the worst. u also were driving during the day....although certain areas u should steer clear of. Now not everyone in every area of lumberton is like that. But it has gotten in my opinion worse in the last couple years and the flooding really effected our area with lavk of insurance bc of the high prices between rent gas etc. So yeah. But it can have a good small town feeling at times. Its not how it was when i was growing up .

Charlotte is a very huge city, and as it is with large cities. You have a higher population of people and with that, a higher percentage that there will be more jerks

Rocky Mount makes Lumberton look like the Bahamas
@southnorthpaw-kq6ue18 күн бұрын
Consolidated Diesel and PFIZER are in Rocky Mount. Plus I have college friends that grew up there and moved back as lawyers and doctors and teachers. They have said that the supposedly high crime rate is exaggerated. Years ago people use to say that Durham was the worst place but it was always in the top 7 as best place to live and make a high salary and one the fastest growing cities in the U.S. the average house is over 300K. Don't believe everything that u hear. Check with the police department for yourself.

If you need some new material Michelle Trivette of Damascus Virginia has not been solved. She went missing at Halloween and her body was dumped a month later on the other side of our very small town. The town is known as trail town usa. It has the Appalachian trail and other trails running through it. We are such a small town that we don't even have a stop light. I know the locals would like to know what happened and get some justice for shelly. We are about an hour from the summer wells case

Most likely is considered the most dangerous per capita bc it's high crime with low population numbers. There is a shooting death almost every day on the east and west sides of Charlotte. Property crime is dangerous, but you cannot compare crime anywhere in the state to Charlotte. Charlotte is the only city with actual gang activity and actual gang on gang violence. Per capita crime does not mean Lumberton residents should be scared. And most ppl there are probably strapped and able to defend their homes if they are invaded when someone is home. And even Charlotte residents aren't scared bc the crime only happens over / past literal intersections that divide the classes. Straight down the middle there is very little crime and people just go about their lives whereas east of Monroe or west of South Blvd you know you are not in a safe area so be on higher alert. just my 2 cents from 20 years living in Charlotte and 35 years in the state. I left the city and now live in more rural areas and I love it.
@jasonbarney427818 күн бұрын
I haven't heard you mention anything about the politicians that sent those boomer hay day manufacturing jobs overseas which is the root cause of these rural American towns going to hell. poverty creates crime.

She died at the Lumber River State Park. It's in Robeson County but not Lumberton. It's located in Orrum. It's a very rural area that's about a 20-25 minute drive from Lumberton.

Man, you have no idea about Lumberton North Carolina. There are a lot of good people there but there’s also a lot of people that will get you and get rid of your body and you will never see it again. Moral of the story is don’t piss off a lump I live right next to him. There’s one county over I don’t mess with them at all, except for if I know him.
