North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech defeated North Carolina 43-41 in a game that took six overtimes. This game was the first six overtime game in ACC history. Third-string quarterback Quincy Patterson II came into the game and threw for 54 yards, ran for 122 yards, and scored two total touchdowns and the game-winning 2-point attempt for the Hokies. Virginia Tech wide receiver Tre Turner caught five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. For UNC, quarterback Sam Howell completed 26 of 49 passes for 348 yards and five touchdowns.

^^^ This 100%. I've been to some amazing Lane games, but I'm not sure any can beat the atmosphere of what I witnessed the other day. I probably even think it was better than the Nebraska game... And the return of some old traditions, (like 'Stick It In'), put a cherry on top. Hopefully this is the new beginning of something special for VT Football.

I've been to all the home games this season and its the first time this year the crowd has stayed with the team. It was loud and electric all game. There is talent on every level on both sides of the ball, they are just young, very young. They are playing with more confidence and will continue to get better . We as fans just need to remain patient and support the team. # free brock hoffman

We have the talent, they are finally starting to gain some confidence in that talent the attitudes of the players is going the right direction now Still need to loosen the reigns on the play calling Don’t be scared to call plays that showcase that talent Go Hokies

Finally- Fuente was brought here to be a QB guru- Patterson and Hooker both look like studs. We have a lot to be excited about if VT can turn this into a 10-2, or 9-3 season

It's not supposed to be sexual. The intent is to stick the ball in the end zone. Athletics is being strict on the band playing it because they are afraid people will get offended when barely anyone is offended anyway. People love stick it in.

But if you been to a game in Lane you should know students are going to do inappropriate things because of alcohol. At the Pittsburgh game this year the North end zone was chanting "eat shit Pitt" every time we scored.

I know Patterson was a running back who taught himself the QB position so I expect a lot of rushing yards out of him pure runner with the ball he can throw 80 yards as well

Pretty telling that the ACC decided not to include the play where Joshua Ezeudu of UNC was called for holding 3 full gaps away from the play...called by the backjudge who didn't even see it, but instead saw UNC RB JWilliams hit the ground at about the Hokie 7 or 8 yd. line, and then decided to "fix" the result of the play. Officiating bias at Lane Stadium is a given, but that and the non-called facemask on the VT defender in OT5 in the open field vs. Michael Carter on the 2 pt. attempt was criminal levels of bias....like the liberal press shilling for Democrats!

Don’t be a sore loser bud. We have a boat load more talent. Our play calling at the start of both half’s kept y’all in the game we had like 6-8 sacks But I will give y’all this UNC is not just a basketball school anymore Best of luck rest of the season Go Hokies

VT's starting QB HH didn't play in 2nd half. 2 turnovers by VT. Farley out 2nd half. Floyd out first half. Bad series and sack by RW cost VT 3 points. So many reasons VT could have lost this game and yet they found a way to win it with D and gutsy QB and run play. Epic game between two decent ACC teams who slugged it out for 6OT. Both teams can be proud and I am so glad Hokies got the win.
