A 6-0 start for the No. 1 Tar Heels was too much for Virginia Tech to overcome at home, as Carolina took the 10-6 win over the Hokies on the road. Sophie Student ignited the hot start for the Heels with the game's opening goal in her first game back in Blacksburg since transferring to North Carolina. Caitlyn Wurzburger picked up a hat trick in the game, while Marissa White scored two. Reilly Casey totaled four assists in the win. For the Hokies, Olivia Vergano notched a hat trick of her own in the Tech comeback attempt.
