Hobo Shoestring

Various clips along the High Line.
Minot to Wishram.
Absolutely ran out of food when I left east and bailed off near Whitefish, Montana, just for something to eat. There's a nice church here that hands out food bags and it's Sunday so they'll be someone there. Very nice bunch.
Heading to Minneapolis now then south.

Hello Shoestring. I worked for CP Rail. And just pasts that big brick building (library) was a small spot in the overgrown trees where others with your mode of transportation would leave things. I passed through the trees every after noon doing a train transfer to and from the BN yard. I always carried a handful of waters, and a bag of candy nd threw them over to the belongings area. I retired 6 yrs ago and don't do that anymore. I hope they enjoyed the goodies. Be well and safe.

Serious, you talk about always trying to be clean.. I know I smell at the end of each day. When you jumped in my truck I was really amazed.. here’s a guy that just rolled in on a train and it was as if you had jumped out of the shower 5 minutes before I showed up. Man I wish I would have just said screw it and stayed longer. Much love and respect my friend.

I saw only one Soo Line engine in my life. That was in 1993 during the floods on the Mississippi; the equipment balance nationwide was so bad that Los Angeles ran out of flatcars, the UP nearly went bankrupt (the UP-SP merger dates from that time) and you saw weird liveries everywhere. I was lucky enough to see a Soo locomotive pulling a northbound on the NS near Doraville, Ga. in the middle of all that craziness.
