North Sea crossing in a 19ft boat

Summer Holiday's: Sailing our Hunter Europa 19 from Shetland to Norway for a short cruise, and back to Shetland over 2 weeks. Lucked out with the weather with lots of sunshine and great sailing conditions. A wee bit of fog to keep us on our toes during both legs of the crossing.
The homemade horizontal axis windvane self-steering worked a treat, the key seems to be the adjustment and securing of the tiller with slight lee helm or weather helm depending on the point of sail, while the trim tab on it's own steers the boat, just as on David Blagdons H19 'Very Willing Griffin'. Thanks to You Tube, some songs have been removed to stop the video being blocked in 244 countries, now it is only blocked in Germany! Cheers

'Lowering the tone of the marina' - haha! Just like me! I bought a 40 year old boat in America on Ebay and sailed 2000 miles down the East coast and 'lowered the tone' in many marinas on the way! Loved your video. What a fabulous cruising ground.

Simply awesome! You guys rock. I wish you well in all of your future adventures. My wife and I are still sailing our original 16 footer that we got 46 years ago. Small boats are great fun to sail. We do have to be careful with the weather, however. Many times we've been caught out in big wind conditions. Once we lost the mast two miles from the dock. Exhilarating too say the least :). All the best. Be safe.
