Remember that it's also the drop in temperature that helps induce pinning, as seen in the wild after a cold front passes, which causes this drop in temperature and usually brings the moisture needed for mushroom growth

I’ve been having a hard time getting pinning in my bags too so I’m wondering if I need to actually cool down the mushroom bags

I had a heating pad under both my tub and my bags and it’s probably too hot to pin so you’re probably right I’ll try this

I have been trying to find anyone who talked about temperature. How cold is too cold? LOL I am growing mycelium at an old man's house who keeps the temp up to 75 all the time But there's no space for fruiting. My space is generally 66 to 70 (colder basement.)

Anything under 64 is too cold between 64-82 the higher the temp the faster the fruiting but higher risk of contam 75-80 is ideal

Looking good. I went hard growing in ‘99 using the PF tek for about 4 years. It funded a large house for myself and 4 friends. We partied care free 7 nights a week. Excellent times

@@knownking9782 thanks for asking, let me tell you with the research I have done and following this brotha here, I came up with a great crop. I produced 10 grams of Z strain the first run and less the second and third. I do want to say the uncle ben tek is a hit or miss.

Yo keys my first grow was successful got 35 g off first flush use a mush supply but the potency wasn’t hitting like I wanted so now I got two NS bags I noc with LC in incubation hope they will be stronger!

I have my humidity at 80 as well in my 4x4 tent and I always have water sitting on the floor of my tent. Would a ventilation system prevent that?

You get a larger bag from mushroom supplies which produces up to two and a half pounds of wet weight mushrooms.

Id also like to know about lighting and if you should choose the blue or white spectrum, I think 12 hours on and 12 off is the best light cycle though.

I purchased 4 of these when you first posted about them and I inoculated using MSS instead of LC and they never took off after like a month and a half. I think because these bags come already mixed, they never had the abundant grain right next to each other to get colonized and started. These are a cool idea, but anyone who plans on using MSS should stick with UB Tek or Popcorn Tek.

I could be be wrong but I heard that light isn't OPTIMAL for growth, it just kinda guides the mushrooms where to go

I'm going to start having to just use North spore. I ordered the monotub kit from Midwest grow kits and actually had quite a bit start and then had contamination in the jars. I'm like, what the hell and open the jars, and there's no filter or layer of vermiculite like it says in a guide. I'm waiting to see what they do about it, but that was a waste of time and a syringe.

When you cut a hole to bring air to the pins to stimulate growth, would it be a good idea to cover the whole with micro pore tape to reduce the chance of contamination? Or would this be pointless?

Pointless. Once it’s fully colonized contamination isn’t a real issue. I do shoebox grows and seriously, once colonized, I never even bother washing my hands when harvesting or touching it. I’ve never had contamination. I really believe 90% of contamination comes from the original inoculation or from the substrate. You get that right you won’t have contamination issues

That’s a big ass light for mushrooms usually you just need a little bit of light that’s a lot heat coming from that big thing ❤ I found that they barely used any

The light is only set to 10%. That's only 65 watts and I don't use it until I have little pins. It's on for 2 hours day once I have pins

My bag is like 90% colonized and has stalled for at most a week with no mycelium growth. There are no signs of contamination whatsoever what should I do I tried reaching out to northspore days ago but seems they are just ignoring me.

Just my opinion: I hate bags. You need to store the bags in a humid environment for best results, otherwise the cake will dry out and not fruit. This js often overlooked and I see alot of people stunting their bag grows because of inexperience.

I'm surprised your wasting time and materials on grow bags. The vast majority of veteran growers of active shrooms don't bother with grow bags. Just because something is being sponsered does not mean it is any good. Go back to tubs, shoeboxes and uncle ben's and walk away from bags.
