Bravo Riding Shotgun @7:29 for the slow moving vehicle pass. [I watched that pass several times, LoL] We were traveling North bound on I-95 in North Florida yesterday and all the Pennsylvania, New York, yankee etc, tagged vehicles camping out in the left lane [with no regard and/or education on how a highway operates] had the lane backed up for miles on end. We would work our way around them using the center and right lanes and when we got to the front, voilà, another northern driver, some talking on the cell phone, and without a brain or clue as they clogged the interstate.
@MrYAMAHA321773 жыл бұрын
Ditto, been there and done that, Slower Traffic Keep Right is such a tough concept for the northern people to conceive.

Wow, this has to be one of my favorites of your videos. Such amazing, beautiful views. I'd love to see this area any time of year. I thought the drive around Vail, Silverthorne and all the hot springs areas was beautiful but... just, wow!!

Wonderful scenery. Thanks for sharing it. Telluride began as a mining town in the 1800s but it was difficult to reach. A dangerous winding path zigzagged down the side of a mountain to get there causing the unofficial name of the town "To Hell You Ride", which was eventually condensed and sanitized. I visited Telluride in June, 2019 with family. Those mountain lifts are free when it is not ski season. Still a great view and a terrific "cheap date".

The scenery coming up over the summit, then dropping down past Trout Lake and descending through the Ophir Loop, (10:00 ish), is just spectacular. Following and crossing paths the nigh forgotten footsteps of the Rio Grande Southern Railroad nearly all the way down the north side of the pass. Phenomenal driving!

Great video and scenery. I'm from Vermont and the scenery along VT 9 is as good as this. The difference is VT 9 is narrow, twisty, and rough 47 miles from Bennington to Brattleboro. Going EB down Searsburg mountain there are 3 runaaway truck ramps in 1 mile. Tom

Beautiful drive! Such beautiful country and mountains. I am still trying to learn to recognize black ice while watching your videos. No icy conditions in the desert, but never know when I might be on a road trip and weather changes. I like being prepared. I can't wait to hear how your grandkids like the new house. Stay safe out there!

I loved this video! I love the mountains so much, but I live at sea level (Cape Cod, MA), so I only get to enjoy them if I go north (ME, NH, VT). That being said, driving mountain roads freak me out, with the steep drops and no guard rails. My husband and I drove from Laughlin NV to Vegas, and I was white knuckles the whole way, with the winding, steep roads and a complete drop off, just past the fog line!

I remember when Telluride was just an old mining town with a hip ski area. People tied their horses to hitching posts along the main drag. The lake you mentioned is Trout Lake, just north of the top of Lizard Head Pass. As pretty a lake as you'll ever see. Almost bit my tongue off there once, bombing down a trail on my mountain bike from the top of the pass, hit a bar ditch hidden in the tall grass. lol

Here we are again, Mike. You driving and me stitching away. Messed up a few times though because I was looking at that gorgeous scenery of my favorite area in Colorado, my home state. Have to say you captured the heart of Colorado mountains and why my heart is still in those mountains. Beautiful. Will re watch many times to be sure. Family and I spent many a day fishing, hiking, camping in that area. So many memories. You can take the girl out of the mountains but you can't take the mountains out of the girl. Thanks Mike. Drive safe.

Thanks for the awesome scenery. It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I love snow covered views. Reminds me of the snow angles my kids and I made and even my grandson made with me. We made a whole group of them on the side of the hill. People driving by could see them. Still awesome seeing you go from snow to spring type of weather. Really enjoy riding shotgun. It's so beautiful seeing the snow fly. You're a great driver. Keep safe, be well and God Bless.

Hey Mike I work there in telluride i drive that road every other day. They take care of that road really good during the winter. Just gotta watch for boulders this thing of year when the snow starts melting. That's trout lake, another lake above it called hope lake. That's probably around 11k feet or more. Safe travels. Cool to see some homes in the background i worked on.

you have beautiful views!.I thought quitting truck driving was best for me in late 80s cause i was tired of my feet freezing..my toes would hurt so bad in the old cabovers.cool to watch what i gave up and my dad said thats a lonely life which it was in my 20s back then but i did did 5 years safely no infractions.I had one accident where out of corner of left eye where stop sign was a nissan car came at 55mph i floored the pete cabover 400 cummins and black smoke rolled thats what saved me in court i rolled over their car with empty linseed oil tanker.all i saw was their drivers mirror flying towards my driver mirror.simple thursday morning at 8 am.they survived.i rember my knee hit dash hard and it bucked and i swore.they actually ripped my trailer tandems out from my trailer.it was funny a old lady came out of the bank to my right and saw me floor it in court she said ya he tryed to get ahead of the car she said i saw the black smoke poring out of his stacks so i was in clear the couple tryed to sue me but they ran stop sign
