If you have been following us through the Trail From Hell videos, you know that up to this point, we were being challenged by this adventure. We had never been up Turtle Mountain before, but I have heard from some people that it was a very tough trail, some have said that no Jeeps could ever make it up there and some said it's gated off, you can't access it. So we set out to find out what's really going on and what is the actual situation on this gate and trail and how hard is it really!? Well... we found out! Let's just say, our struggle was far from over... check it out!

Hi, I'm just a white-knuckled armchair subscriber but I am enjoying watching all your adventures. The production, including scenery and music is wonderful & so well done. I'm happy & relieved to see you decided not to continue up that too steep incline, no production is ever worth risking your safety. It seemed like the weight of Fury's engine was almost outweighed by your equipment set-up in the rear at that angle. I thought I saw your front passenger tire lift off the ground. That was too close for comfort imo, but what do I know here in my armchair, lol. I know this trip was 10 or so months ago and I hope you will have a safe happy trail on your next attempt up Turtle Mountain this weekend or next time. I look forward to more of your adventurous productions. Keep safe. I think I know why it's called Turtle mountain. Go low... and slow... and hang on to your shell. lol

My buddy and I took his grand Cherokee on 39.5s and lockers there in 2016. Took 2 trips to make it. Had to bring a saw to widen out a few spots to get up there. That last corner is sketchy for sure. Coming back down we were loosing air out the back beads of the tires. Almost flat by the time we got to good ground. Took us about 8 hrs there and back. Well worth the trip. Most people only do it once.

Definitely quite an adventure! One of the most challenging trails in NB, personally it's THE most challenging one I've ever done. I know some people on private lands do extreme rock stuff, but as far as public trails go that actually lead somewhere, this one tops the list. We went back again for more! And likely there will be a 3rd time in the future. People still ask me to take them up there.

Virgil/Chantel, that view made the struggle through hell totally worth it, and I'm highly looking forward to part II. Freeze the video at 48:44 and think about it for a minute. Their standing in a place filled with so much beauty, and yet in the distance is a place filled with so much destruction of the environment. The stark contrast between the two.

That's a wild trail... After the weekend we just had, I think I'm gonna take that one off my list. We did the Friar's Nose in Sussex on Saturday. 3 hours to have an injured rider extracted with a broken collar bone due to roll over. That was a scary damn video man. Congrats on taming the mountain. Looking forward to the next one!

Awesome trail to an epic campsite! With a little clean up and some promotion that trail could bring some Jeep tourist dollars to the area and you could be the Mark Smith (founder of Jeep Jamboree and 1st ever organized Jeep trip on the Rubicon) of the Nubicon. I'd certainly travel to do that trail, but not sure my Gladiator could get through some of those tight twisty's. Anyhow, great job filming your adventure!

Great video! Still one of my favourite trails in the area to hike or Jeep. The new blockage was initially at around your 5 min mark. The gate has been there for years and I've always had great encounters with the property owners in the area. The new blockage was a bunch of logs across the trail and signs warning of some pretty deadly acts if you continue. It looks like the new landowner has removed and opened the property back up.

I lived in the area years ago. The land/camp owners around Robin Hood all have keys to the gate. Usually it's unlocked, but on occasion you can get unlucky. A locked gate is not really a problem for dirt bike/ATV people - not sure there is a way around in a full size 4x4. Definitely not a trail for somebody afraid of scratching their ride. Also, in NB it's illegal to cross a watercourse, although it is frequently done. Last time I was out there the bridge wouldn't hold a Jeep.
@NorthBoundExpeditions
@NorthBoundExpeditions 3 жыл бұрын
Yes we tried first of our Jeeps could pass the bypass around the gate and they could. There are certain conditions under which it is legal to cross a watercourse as it was explained to me by a conservation officer. I always make sure we are legal in what we do and in this case, this crossing is legal as it meets the criteria.

Good video that captures the trail nicely. The local Jeep club runs this trail annually, ATVs as well and lots of dirt bikes run this trail for a short fun run (maybe 20 min on a bike). I think I have at least 2 Turtle Mtn videos on my channel. Rocks and roots are pretty relentless and when its wet everything is slippery, except the granite rock face at the top. Early spring and the water would be to deep to cross as well there is still ice and snow on the trail and any mud spots to soft and big vehicles would tear up the trail to much. Better to run it int he summer or fall.
@NorthBoundExpeditions
@NorthBoundExpeditions 3 жыл бұрын
I checked your video. It’s crazy how fast a dirt bike can make this trail. Took us 4 hours lol. With filming and breaks, but still.
@TeamStruggleBunny
@TeamStruggleBunny 3 жыл бұрын
@@NorthBoundExpeditions The bikes do have an easier time picking lines. With the Jeeps you have one line and its tight requiring you to reset to get around the trees. Definitely a high risk of sheet metal damage. We run it a couple times each year. For novice riders its a long ride up and can take a couple of hours as the roots and rocks wear you out. If you've haven't gone yet you should check out Martin's Head trail. Very easy trail for the Jeeps but very rewarding beach to visit.

The 84 had no electronics, simple, the 99 about the same, but the computer did not limit throttle response. i was wondering why it seemed as if she always gave too much throttle.
