Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for May 21, 2024: Summery weather prevailed across NE Ohio again today with highs well into the 80s and a NEW RECORD HIGH of 90 degrees officially at Hopkins today! (well above our average highs in the low 70s for this time of the year.)
An Air Quality Alert also continues for much of NE Ohio through midnight. Otherwise plan on partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. It will be warm and stuffy, an AC and ceiling fans night.
The potential for strong to severe thunderstorms tomorrow is why we have declared your Wednesday a Impact Weather Day. If strong to severe thunderstorms develop the main threats will be hail and damaging winds and localized heavy rain (flash flooding).
This is your cue to stay on top of the latest weather forecasts as we get new data in and continually update/tweak the forecast. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. We are here to keep you informed.
Looking ahead to your Memorial Day Weekend, on and off showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast. It won't be a weekend wash out, but be smart and have back up plans in case.
