The chocolate ball is pretty easy to make yourself ½ cup butter, softened ½ cup sugar 2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder 1 and ⅓ cup rolled oats 2 Tbsp. strong coffee, cooled ⅓ cup pearl sugar or coconut flakes Instructions In bowl, beat together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Mix in the cocoa powder. Add the rolled oats and coffee. Mix everything well. Shape the mixture into small balls, about a tablespoon each. Roll in pearl sugar or coconut flakes. Refrigerate until serving.

The "Zoo" is the flavour of the zoo monkeys you eat earlier 14:50 but more like "foam" version on the cloetta polly.

That's so fun that the only people to appreciate salty licorice are Scandinavians! And we love it!!

When it comes to the nougat there are multiple types and instead of calling it white nougat we call it fransk nougat (french nougat), because it originated in france. Soft milk chocolate hazelnut nougat is just called nougat in Swedish. (but the brand is Swedish so it is a Swedish snack I guess)

Imports from South America are also what influenced the company name "Estrella" - which means "Star" in Spanish. What does Estrella stand for? 1946 - Folke Andersson started importing bananas from South America. He decides to call his new company Estrella, after the Spanish for "star". Folke thus becomes known as the "Banana King".

There are two main types of nougat, one's from France (you call this 'nougat') and one's from Germany (you call this 'praline'). But in Swedish, we call the German one 'nougat', and the French one 'fransk nougat'. This leads to no end of misunderstandings.

I'm a Swede. Yeah, Swedish meatballs are very popular here even though we ofcourse just call them meatballs :) And I would say we mostly make them our selves and don't go to Ikea to eat them. Well we could after a pitstop at the restaurant while shopping at Ikea but I personally rather take a hotdog at checkout :P Yeah I would say Ikea is popular here to buy the basic things. And everyone goes there to buy things for their first apartment or when people go to study at the university. Once people get older they tend to buy furniture from other Swedish/Scandinavian stores.

Hey ☺️ thank you for the reply! That’s awesome to know, haha funny over here we avoid the hot dogs & everyone seems to go for the meatballs 😝 we always say there’s nothing like Swedish meatballs (so they must be special) ☺️

Can confirm these are all genuine Swedish snacks, available in any grocery store in Sweden. 😊 The ä is supposed to be pronounced as the a sound in apple (well, close enough) and Wasa is actually pronounced Vasa (w is usually just v in Swedish). Meat balls are def a thing in Sweden, just your regular staple food. My fav are the moose meat ones, served with boiled potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberry jam and picked cucumbers!
