This is the full trip video of Troop 534's Voyageur Brigade Trek from the Charles L. Sommers Canoe Base, Northern Tier.
A Voyageur Brigade, or Northern Tier Outfitting Program, is a scout crew that goes out into the Boundary Waters without a BSA interpreter. Scout crews may choose this option if they have participated in a traditional Northern Tier Trek within the last three years.

I noticed 2 of your crew were fishermen... And some nice fish they caught too... Take the BSA Certified Angling Instructor course... and qualify for a job on the Fishing Staff at the canoe base... or any other of the high adventure bases, Jamboree, NOAC, or your summer camp. FISH ON !

This is so cool!! We did the exact same route as you guys a week earlier. We left the day you guys got there. Our interpreter’s name was Nicholas. Doesn’t look like he was your guide but amazing that we did the same route! So nice to relive it, thanks!

That is very cool!!! We didn’t have an interpreter. The other adult with us had done a traditional trek in 2021, and we both had the Wilderness First Aid certification, which qualified us to be a Voyaguer Brigade. We had seven scouts who wanted to go and that was the only way we could do it.

With all the ways you could go up there, it’s amazing we did the same trek so close together. I only saw one area where we deviated slightly. It was beautiful!
