Hello Northrock and KZfaqrs. I purchased the previous version of this model with the black and silver paint 4 years ago. I regularly clean and service the bicycle at home and by the pros at my local shop. I ride the bike almost every day for about 3 miles and will occasionally take the bike out for some moderately paced mountain biking on the weekends. PROS: -Solid frame prevents flex and contributes to better road feel when tacking rough terrain. -Rapid fire shifters work great -Shocks, brakes and front cassette have been abused and have stood up very well -Strong wheel profile -Simple to work on -Heavy weight provides for lower center of gravity in turns and makes every ride a real workout CONS: -But seriously though, this bike is heavy. -The pedals that came with it were junk and had no grip so I replaced them with metal pegs. However, I understand why you put cheap pedals on it to reduce the cost to consumer because serious riders will replace the pedals anyway. -The crank failed after about 1.5 years of daily use because it had a bad seal that allowed debris to get into the crank. -The rear cassette was also replaced but this is due to regular wear and me neglecting to clean the chain followers after a couple dirty rides. -Stock tires and inner tubes are very prone to puncture. I recommend replacing them with better tires and puncture resistant inner tubes before doing any mountain biking. All in all a great beginners bike that will require some investment to get it up to speed. Definitely check the bike over before taking your first ride and don't forget the TLC

35 pounds is HEAVY. I guess im used to a 17-pound road bike. I am still tempted to buy one.

Sorry about your bike getting stolen. Did you register your bike online with Northrock? If you did, then contact them at support(at)northrockbikes(dot)com and provide them with the email address you registered with. They should be able to provide the serial number. Typically there are 8 digits in the Serial Number and it is located under the bottom bracket - where the pedal crank is located. I'm not sure what the ITM/ART is but the item number for the XC6 is 598446.

What's the weight of one of these bikes? I might get one!
