I used to a K9 handler and trainer for a Sheriff department. Always listen to words the handlers use. Usually its in German. There are command words give that will make the dog react the same way as if it had a positive hit. They do it all the time to establish probable cause to further search your car, or property.

How he mentions psilosibe* being a good introduction and catalyst for enjoying and exploring and learning about nature and other mushroom varieties is so true you dont hear it put into words like that its kinda understood by those that have had similar experiences but ive never heard anyone express it i thought that was very cool.. and so so true i wouldn't know half the things i know about different mushrooms if it didn't start with a bag of cubensis in highschool lol

Fascinating stuff. Alan Rockefeller is such a treasure. The kind of treasure like Van Gogh, and all the miracle workers who are ahead of their era! I do appreciate his candor in delivering his insight and tremendous beauty! I would like to correct one thing be said... Asserting your god given, constitutionally protected right to avoid self incrimination from fascists who wish to strip you of your freedom, (especially when you're minding your own, perfectly legitimate business, or pursuing your harmless happiness,) does not make you a dick! The bill of rights is not a set of loopholes to jump through. The only dicks are the ones who try to find loopholes to take your freedom.

I been into nature and medical plants for decades. I was always fascinated with mushrooms, I had a fear of identifying them wrong tho. Which made me super cautious. After the past four years of finding, identifying, and collecting samples and spores I’ve actually started putting them in special spots, one is obviously my yard so I know when I need to check the others. There is such excitement when you can smell the fresh mycelium, before you can even see the spot. Friends think I’m crazy leading them off into the woods, until they see them. Sure some I put there, but others you just catch it on the wind. I have to go see what it is 😂

One of my favorite gingers, next to my grandson. Alan is the perfect straight guy to Joey Santores' humor. It's a wonder how much knowledge is in those guys! Making being intellectually curious cool again in addition to adding to the overall knowledge bank. Great interview! Edit: amphetamines, cocaine & morphine are considered less dangerous than cannabis and psylicybin according to the drug schedule. Given the research showing clear benefit of specifically cannabis, it doesn't belong a schedule 1. Given it's relative safety & low abuse potential, psylicybin doesn't belong there either. Those decisions were based on political agendas, not science. Our FDA has a history of that 🤔

Just fyi the telluride mushroom festival is a complete scam. They charge 400+ to go mushroom hunting a free hobby. As some one who has hosted both larger and smaller events than there festival there is simply no justification for anything over 200 for a festiveal of this size and even that is a big stretch. They rip people off and make it purposefully expensive to gate against those who arent ultra rich.

Alan knows mushrooms, but he doesn't know history very well, nor does he understand the difference between "tobacco" and pre-made carcinogenically innoculated cigarettes. It was very difficult to listen to him discussing the Nixon deception, as the war on drugs has always been about monopolizing medicine and raking in the tax money for private prison industry. The tobacco thing... he's either ignorant or he's intentionally perpetuating lies to prevent people from discovering the truth. I really hope that is just that he's ignorant and maybe he just conjured up his narratives in his own mind

The cops put him in jail for taking rubbish out of a bin and being into mushrooms (not even psilocybes).... A better question is why is there so much waste from big chain shops? If police are not acting within the law, them getting sued, like he said, will reduce the amount of cops who are not doing what they're paid for but using their powers out of spite or with lack of knowledge.
