I covered this in another comment, but you're exactly right - he either prevents the evade or ramps. The intent is not to pop all the way off like Falcon (since momentum is not subject to diminishing returns, mind you), but just to allow him to get more control in fights where he's having trouble holding onto it. Combine that with his sig, and he's very tanky after the opp evades, too, so it works out pretty well.

Lol bluntly there's no way in hell. That'd be double the work for the art team and lots of extra work for design and balance for far too little payoff. The combos are not that bad. Turn on the tracker.

@@Daddylonglegs93 yea I imagine with single hit basics, it would requires abilities in the kit to compensate thus making the kit that much longer and so on and so on. Keeping an open mind, will snatch the 4 star from the arena soon enough.

I just wish speedsters felt more like dash from Disney Mirrorverse where it's super fast 3 hits that feels like hit so much smoother lol

Yup. Keep in mind it's not flat ability accuracy there, so 20% becomes 26, not 50, but it's still very good

@@Daddylonglegs93 hey man i respect your opinion a lot on things, but didn't a lot of people give up on QS just because of his janky combo, and because of his slow buildup , overtime he was just reduced to a bgs defender with occasional attack value. Heck I was one of those people that got them from the featured crystals and took him up as high as I could just cause he's quicksilver but there's just something that feels boring about him, can't bring myself to play with him anymore. As far as the comparison with Northstar the janky combo part was the thing I was referring to, but it's just a crude comparison.

People deciding not to play him and him falling off are not the same thing at all. Even just looking at BGs, he's underrated as an attacker and the availability of the 7* is proving that, but also, I really cannot stress this enough - there are other game modes - and he did not lose even the slightest bit of value in them.

@@Daddylonglegs93I have a r3 and on paper you’re correct but in reality he’s okay I guess? He’s not as prominent and as strong as other viable options. I find his value differently but direct comparison to most other science champs he pales in comparison.

@waynewayne8419 "underrated" and "worse than Silk and Titania in raw damage output" are not mutually exclusive. That's moving the goalposts a bit. My point was just that he does work in BGs when he's not punching up and is great elsewhere, and I stand by that firmly.

You should spend some time thinking about how much worse a bunch of mechanics would need to be to still be balanced at 99 instead of their listed cap, and about how much worse the characters themselves would then be as a result. Outside of that, designs are different? I don't really know how to explain that one to you

Just analysing his kit and the number of special hits he has ( since kabam has a habit of making multi hit specials have weaker individual hit damage, like dani moonstar, so as to balance them against one hit k.o specials ,like magneto sp2) I thought a 6*R3 would hit a max of 350 - 500 k sp2 after full ramp, which is pretty average in the mutant class But maybe I am wrong ,and your comment gives me hope

...you consider a 500k Sp2 average for a 6R3? You and I have not been playing the same game. Also, it's not "a habit of making them weaker to balance things" - that's just how specials work in our game. Each special deals a given percentage of attack rating as its base damage, same as basic attacks, and then that damage is spread out over the various hits, with the art team generally picking what the ratio is.

@@Daddylonglegs93 Hello DLL Saw the deep dive now , and it seems my damage estimate about him was correct ( 7*r3 at full ramp with max crits can deal about 820 K sp2 without suicides , and around 990 K against skill champions , so it roughly translates to around to 350 to 500 K sp2 bracket for the 6*R3 ) and is a staple damage bracket in the mutant class like Storm, Sunspot , Bishop , Kitty pryde etc However I have seen my two oversights about him. The thing is unlike other mutants , he can stay in his ramp for eternity (much like professor X ,but faster) so he will be able to do back to back sp2s so bursting down is a staple for this guy it seems. Second , his basic hits on their own will deal a huge chunk of damage due to reverb as well as the number of hits. Overall , a very very solid champ

I still think you have an odd definition of average. You listed a bunch of the very strongest mutants as far as Sp2 payouts. That's not what an average is. But yes, most others do consume their ramp to get that payout, and he does not. Glad that's sounding good 👍🏼
