I used to think folk-dancing was silly...just old-fashioned. But, these dances have a lot to teach us about the relationship between men and women. Mutual respect and gentleness. Relationship as invitation to share, with playfulness at its heart. All aspects that make it possible to maintain a long term relationship.

How do they not get sick from all that spinning?!? (P.s. I love Norwegian folk dancing even though I'm Australian)
@toblesspringfield33046 жыл бұрын
Your inner ear gets used to the spinning, thus you can handle spinning just fine

I was a Norwegian folk dancer for most of my child hood the secret is spotting which is finding one spot to watch the hole time (i usually looked at my partner) a mix of that and you kind get used to it.

All have the same steps. Essentially, It is all about a nice boy who is going to Church and who stamps the mud off his shoes now and then ..And the girl from the farm over the fjord who fancies him, catches up dances with him too.... and who pursues him if he wanders off at all.... and then his hat falls off and blows into a tree and he kicks it down, and she marries him and they live off healthy cheese and crisp-bread for evermore.

Norwegian dancing is one of the things that made me (haha) fall in love with Norway! It's amazing! Anbjørg was really pretty and Audun is really handsome too. I'm, actually, Russian, but I feel myself like pure Norwegian. I learn this language. The video is amazing and it's really hard to choose which of pieces is my favourite one. I love them all! Are there any links to full melodies?

Dear Luca! Thank you for your nice comments. I'm afraid the video you see on KZfaq is all I have from this occation. It was never planned from the beginning that I should produce any video at all so I had to make the best I could from what I had.

Beklager for norskeren (google translate)
