Norwegian Rosemaling - Telemark Freehand Canvas - Acrylic Painting with Art of Lise - ASMR Painting

Welcome back to my studio for a touch of freehand painting in the Telemark Rosemaling style using JoSonja Acrylic Paints by Chroma. I am painting this canvas using a #6 Filbert Brush - Z43T Zen by Royal & Langnickel and colors that I am using today are Aqua, Green Oxide, Warm White, Raw Sienna, Turners Yellow, Yellow Oxide, Indian Yellow, Indian Red Oxide, Vermilion, and Norwegian Orange. I hope you enjoy some time with me today and that I am able to share some of the love I have for the wonderful decoartive Norwegian Art form called Rosemaling. The end of this video was quite surprising to me. I always say, God's blessings, and wrap a bubble of protection around whatever I may be praying for. 🤗. I just discovered you on YT last night. I am an artist, an I am very drawn to things Norwiegian. I don't know why. There is a theory, but it is a long story. I love your at, and you have a blessed prsonality. Wow you’re good! I’m about to brush up on my painting and needed a refresher Im so glad I found u!!!!! Love the filbert brush on this I’ve always used a round! But no more 😂

Very impressive skill- every stroke perfect, consummate knowledge of tool and materials, the product of many hours (years) of study and repetition. I became attracted to Rosemaling because of my admiration for medieval manuscript painting. The border decorations of those pages seem like small versions of these- or the other way around. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your lovely compliment. It is so appreciated. Yes, thousands of hours are behind the work I do in these videos. My husband likes to refer to the 10,000 hours that is spoken about in the book Outliers. I agree...rosemaling and medieval manuscript boarders are very similar. Rosemaling is based on the C and S strokes much like that is seen in many other cultures. I think the similarity lies in the flow of the design. Thank you again!

Hello, I am new to your channel, found you from Mary Jane Farms the magazine. I've been an artist my whole life, dabbling in all genres of art, self taught. It's been a couple decades since I did rosemaling, and need a refresher course. I have only had a smartphone for a little over a year. And wow KZfaq has opened up a whole new world for me with lots of new things to learn in the art world!!! I look forward to refreshing my memory and seeing what new things you can teach me.

This is so wonderful...both my mom and aunt did rosemal when I was very young. I remember them using Qtips instead of brushes and I was in charge of the white dots.
