In this video we will explain the controversial way Norway fights the corona virus. You might think some of what you will see are dangerous situations and that Norwegians are naïve. We might provoke you, but don’t judge us before you see the result and numbers from Norway in the end of this video.
In this dire and alarming world, we think humor and laughter is important. So, against all advices we are going on a shopping spree in a lockdown Oslo. Ronald will shop to he drops, while Mads is hysterical and think everything is threatening. Ronald will redecorate his home, be occupied with summer fashion, buy books, eat, drink and get some Easter decoration.
After the spree, Ronald will explain why Norway keeps parts of its society open for business and people. Key words are: Trust, Oil, Wine and Candy.
In the end Ronald will show the corona numbers, the result from 4 weeks with a volunteer lockdown, where the word “Dugnad” is essential. The numbers and curves might surprise you. And the same day we were recording this, our health officials had a very positive and hopeful message to the Norwegian people. What that was? Watch until the end of the video.
We know this situation is a matter of life and death for many of you. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all of you watching and your loved ones. We are crossing our fingers for this illness and situation to go away fast. Stay safe! Stay sane!
This is a Yourway2norway video, made by

*** ABOUT YOURWAY2NORWAY ***
YOURWAY2NORWAY is a different travel channel. We combine education with humor and entertainment. It’s an authentic inside guide to real life in Norway. We highlight small and large themes, cultural characteristics and Norwegian phenomena. All the stuff you won’t find in a tourist brochure.
The content is perfect for people who travel to Norway as tourists, visit friends and family in Norway, study in Norway or work in Norway. It is ideal for anyone with Norwegian roots and DNA. It is also interesting for anyone who wants to learn more about other cultures and people. And for all of you looking for some smile and laughter.
The guys behind are; Ronald Sagatun - a enthusiastic and sarcastic Sami Latino with a Norwegian passport. Throughout his life he has tried to find out what it means to be Norwegian. Now he shares his hilarious experiences. Mads is a grumpy Norwegian dude, providing the channel authenticity and the typical Norwegian way of viewing the world. We always try to be funny, self-deprecating, human and, when it´s necessary; sincere and passionate.

Oil money would be great, as an essential worker I can call work for illness and do not get paid. I have to prove I have covid-19, with no tests available can't prove, but can't go with a horrid cough. So no money for 14 days, which is how long they want you to stay out.

I wish it was lik÷ that here in the states. Some people get made at you for telling them to back up some. Or get made when the store requires you to wear a mask. In Jacksonville Florida we had a security guard in a store get shoot because someone got mad at them for telling them to wear a mask. Which is ridiculous. If you don't want to wear a mask....don't shop there.

Hi Ronald 😘🤗, hi Mads 😘🤗. You two are great for my mental health 😄. I adore you! I think Norwegians are very lucky that they can trust their government. Here in the US, we don't have that luxury. Compared to what we're used to, our streets are deserted. Only stores that are considered essential are open. Grocery stores where I live are limiting how many people they will allow inside at a time. There are lines outside of people waiting for someone to come out before they can go in. Stores that are open twenty-four hours a day, are closing for 6 to 8 hours each night just so they can restock the shelves. And even though we are self isolating and keeping social distance when we do have to go out, we're still seeing an alarming number of deaths daily. With so much sadness in the world it's wonderful to be able to laugh if only for a few minutes. I had just taken a sip of coffee when I heard Mads say, "you moron". I did a spectacular spit-take. 😂 Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for sharing yourselves and your beautiful Norway with us! I adore both of you ❤❤. God påske. Stay safe! 😘🤗, 😘🤗

@AndreaAvila78
@AndreaAvila78 4 жыл бұрын
@@sandraanderson2345 yes. There's strict control by the police. People go to jail and their cars are confiscated if they don't respect the quarantine. You can only go to the nearest supermarket wearing a face mask. People with essential jobs have to circulate with a special permit. Nobody can leave their cities. Nobody can go for walks. Nobody can hang out at the park or by the river. Everyone must stay at home or face the consequences: a big fine or jail.

Here in my part of U.S. a store is open if they sell food somewhere in the store, or they are a hardware/renovation store which also includes auto repair shops. Northern Norway did not get hit hard. We have extra strict rules; it's still winter here with lots of snow and wind. Vesterålem (an island group 160 km above the arctic circle) had about seven cases, and no one had to be hospitalized so far. I work in one of those big hardware and all stores, and business is booming. However, I think people are tired of being good boys and girls participating in dugnad. The cabins and vacation houses are being used, there are campers on the road. My village of 14 suddenly has tripled, and I know they are not from this municipality, and I know of some who are trying to go skiing in Sweden, where korona hit a lot harder. I think there will be more cases here in a week or so. After easter all the naughty boys and girls will go back to dugnad.

Its closed for none essential travels, excemptions are people comming for their daily work in norway. We are allowed to go to sweden and shop but then you have to self isolate for 14 days. Aswell as new rule to stop people from going to sweden and buy cheap food etc is that you will lose your paychecks from the goverment. Since you have to quarantine for atleast 14 days

We are under lockdown, which means no access to stores except for supermarkets, pharmacies, car mechanics, etc. Oh yes, the liquor store is still open. I guess my country is being considerate of the alcoholics. My husband wanted something from the hardware store. He had to order online and wait in the parking lot where they deliver it to the car. Stay safe guys!

Here in the Netherlands we are also in a lockdown: schools, restaurants etc are closed. If you can, you have to work from home, as I do now but it is difficult when you don't see anybody (I live alone. lt is a struggle to keep my sanity) I suppose we trust the government as well because the regulations are obeyed and the government wants everybody to take reaponsibility, which most people do. You can go out for groceries and other essential things and you can go out on your bike and take a walk but you can't go too far. Just to stay fit and not going mad from being in the house all the time. But everybody has to keep a distance of 1,5 metres, also in nature, and more than 3 people are not allowed. You get a fine of around 400 euro's. The 1,5 metre is very, very important here. O yes: the numbers are slowly going down so it seems to work.

Here in Minnesota USA. We have been social distancing quite well. The parks have been an issue, people are nuts after winter and want to be out. I am considered an essential worker, groceries and find some people get it, try to cover coughs and respect distance and others do not. Most of the states around us are not on lockdown and since each state can choose for themselves this will probably be around a very long time.

You two are precious and I appreciate your videos! Here in Michigan, today we have over 22,000 confirmed cases and 1276 deaths. Oakland County, where I live, is 907 square miles, with 1.25 million people, 4511 confirmed cases and 282 deaths. Most of us now, only leave our homes to get groceries and medication. So many people are out of work, the national guard is here handing out food. Last week our governor said if you can, don't even leave your house even for groceries, for the next two weeks because it is out of control here. Our hospitals don't have enough ventilators, gloves, masks or medication. And they are changing our convention centers into makeshift hospitals because the hospitals are full and turning people away.

When you buy alcohol do you “stock up” or only buy for the week?
@mensamlucerna4220
@mensamlucerna4220 4 жыл бұрын
There's no need to stock up, we might buy a little extra just to avoid standing in a boring line too soon, but we don't panic and grab all we can carry thinking the world is about to end. The governement has told us there's no need to hoard, there's enough for all as long as we don't panic and start hoarding. Most people respect the message so the stores lack nothing with the exception of face masks and hand rubbing alcohol. Keeping calm might not cure Corona, but it does prevent us from collapsing into chaos and anarchy.
@OrangeFluffyCat
@OrangeFluffyCat 4 жыл бұрын
Mensam Lucerna stocking up for two weeks instead of just one means you have to go out less often, and therefore expose yourself and others less to possible infection. It just makes sense. That’s why France started making people buy multiple baguettes at once and freeze the extras; people were going out to get fresh bread everyday and causing crowding. 🤦‍♀️

@@melyc7089 Nordic societies are based on trust and Norway is still enough Nordic to be kind of trusting. You know, I just thought about this while listening to some of the old videos of the Johnny Gosch case. America was still much Nordic, in every sense, even up until the 1980's, and thus was also kind of trusting, then all those kidnapping began happening, paper boys snatched from the streets of what was presumed to be safe neighborhoods etc. So sad. Things have changed a lot since then. To live in a world where you can't trust your own neighbours, a world where you're not allowed to live amongst your own kin, your own kind, well, it's like some level of hell frankly.

The Federal Governent will pay the next three months almost a minimum wage to these people stay at home, but the formal employees are threatened with the loss of the job.. B) You can spread the virus without being sick at all. C) Viral loads are such that the virus is spread BY BREATHING.. so 6 feet doesn't mean jack when you are passing through the airstream of someone spreading it. The article I read explained it like this - if that person were smoking, could you smell it? That's smoke from their lungs, and if they are sick, the air from their lungs would contain the virus as well. Good luck, but no thanks.
