One thing I've learned after watching these videos is that the more eggs laid the better - at least they'll raise one fully grown offspring if the rest don't make it. But it's sad they usually die off, or if all of the eggs hatch, they have to fight to eat... and even when they're old enough to fly, some of them fall to their death. It's a miracle falcons live at all.

It was clear enough that one of the 4 eggs was damaged (GA consumed it) and that 3 eggs hatched. One of the babies was lost in the unfortunate “startle” accident. One hatchling seems to have fledged reasonably normally. But am I missing something? What happened to the other baby? Was there an accident or predation that we don’t see?

I’m confused because I watched the first video of the first mating pair right well the mom disappeared after GA made her presence known and then the dad had to Feed the chicks for a month by himself where did the mother go and did the old male from the 4 chicks 🐣 mate with GA because I see no dad in this brood helping just the mother

Chicks get the fluid they need from the fresh raw meat while in the nest. Once they are more active and fledge, they instinctually know to find water sources
