Nosferatu is an upcoming American supernatural gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers, and starring Bill Skarsgard as Count Orlok. Following Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979), it is the second remake of the 1922 film written by Henrik Galeen and directed by F. W. Murnau, which in turn is an "unauthorized and unofficial" adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.
Development on the film began in 2015, following the release of The Witch. Eggers planned to make it his second film, describing it as a passion project, but eventually opted to delay production and go on to direct The Lighthouse and The Northman instead. Frequent collaborator Anya Taylor-Joy was attached to the project earlier, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
Skarsgärd and Lily-Rose Depp were cast as leads in September 2022. Nicholas Hoult joined the cast the following month, with the remaining cast confirmed in early 2023. Filming primarily took place in and around Prague between February and May 2023.
Nosferatu is a co-production of Studio 8 and Maiden Voyage Pictures, and is set to be released theatrically on December 25, 2024, by Focus Features.

This film looks beautiful. I also loved The Lighthouse and The Witch, both cinematically gorgeous. I plan to see Nosferatu because it has the same feeling as his previous films.

all the character names are different because they changed them when they made the silent film to get around Bram Stokers ownership rights. Its still Draculas story. im super stoked because Eggers remaking THE first vampire movie is next level and we could be looking at a modern gothic masterpiece. im so excited. 🎉😊

This looks INCREDIBLE. Incredible. Beautifully shot. Acting looks raw. I knew they weren’t gonna show us Orlok full on lol. What they did show looks like gothic horror of the highest order that’s gonna make vampires scary again. One of the last shots of Orlok in the shadows with that wolf standing by him…the silhouette of Orlok’s hand cast over the town….sweet Jeezus. Looks like a true TRUE horror film. Gosh.

Fact: Willem Dafoe did play max schreck in the documentary movie of Nosferatu (1922) called "shadow of the vampire ".

Hi, my lovely Natalie! x ❤ He is coming. Patiently waiting for the masterpieceeeeee 🔥 It definitely has the sauce he's a fantastic director and gets more ambitious every project. This one does seem to be taking advantage of all of his strengths in a way to deliver us an absolute masterpiece. That shot of the Shadow of the hand 👌 ❤️ This could be the best film of Robert Eggers' career.❤

Nice reaction - there's a series of Nosferatu films that are in a way conversing w one another - the 1922 Nosferatu is a landmark in horror, and Murnau overall is a formative figure in cinema - then in 1979, Werner Herzog did a remake in homage to Murnau, and this is also one of the greatest horror films - then in 2000, Shadow of the Vampire paid homage w this fun idea of Murnau vs Nosferatu - I think Eggers will try to re-create the experience of the 1922 film for our audiences today - nice to react to them as a series, building up to the 2024 release - maybe pausing along the way to also give us the definitive 1931 Lugosi take on Stoker - or you could also avoid the other versions for now if you want to avoid spoilers

So Nosferatu is an adaptation from Dracula, but since the director didn’t have permission from Bram Stoker’s estate to use his characters, the director made some changes to the characters (names, relationships, swapped a couple things around) and made Nosferatu. The Stoker estate was pissed and sued the studio and tried to have the movie destroyed, but a copy managed to survive and that was copied/repaired over the years. Eventually Nosferatu was remade, and then remade again. And now we have this. So essentially, this is Dracula, but not. 😂

@@blondetouragereviews-Nosferatu has also been remade once before by director Wener Herzog back in the 70s with Klaus Kinski as the vampire. I would highly recommend checking that one out along with the original 1922 version, as it's in my opinion, one of the best remakes I've ever seen.

Lily Rose Depp was in a horrible HBO series (can't remember the name). So glad she will get to redeem herself with this! PS - I still watched that show even though it was awful. LOL

even tho the idol was bad, u cant deny she was incredible in it. especially the scene where she calls out for her mom in ep 3, that was top tier. i still feel horrible for lily bc the show was originally supposed to be something entirely different. it had a woman director n the show was very bubblegum-pop with vibrant colors n she was supposed to be a regular popstar. then sam levinson (euphoria director) came in n completely changed the story. ridiculous lol

Along these lines, review the other new vampire movie which is coming is " The Vourdalak". It seems equally creepy and has that Eggers feel to it. In this film, the vampire is a life-sized puppet and is very very eerie.

The trailer is very creepy. The story was actually written by the famous Tolstoy, before Dracula was written.
