"Nostalgic" is our latest film where the circumstances of the hunt bring back a flood of memories from Casey's early days tagging along with his dad.
"A fresh layer of snow on the ground, with a tag in my pocket makes it hard not to think back to the earlier years of following my dad around the hills of Idaho on the general season mule deer hunt. As a young buck I would envision the monsters that roamed the mountains and dream of the day one would step out in front of my Dads handed down 30-06 rifle.
30+ years later I still envision what "could be" when we hit the hills after the wiley ol Muley. My passion for the outdoors and especially hunting were formed from those early years with my dad in the snow chasing mule deer."
Some argue that mule deer are the quintessential big game species of the west as they offer a certain challenge that other game animals just don't. An old mature mule deer buck can outsmart even the best hunters and this is one of the many reasons we love the pursuit. It's November...the bucks should be rutting, there will be Inclement weather and Casey has a muzzleloader in hand. This is "NOSTALGIC"

I love that in the beginning, Casey asks what she hopes to get out of the hunt, and it was kind of obvious that she didn't really have an answer. In the end, he asks what she got out of the hunt, and the answer was profound and full of emotion. THIS is what hunting is all about!!!

You know I heard Casey say multiple times about what this hunt did to his memory. Thank God for the gift of remembering. It is so important that this happens. We have heard it said many times about let's go out and make some memories. Well obviously Casey's father did exactly that on a snowy mountain many years ago. Thanks to all our elders who take us out when sometimes it would me much easier not to. Lol. To the memories of times gone by. Thanks Casey and congrats.

Been muzzleloader hunting since mid 90's when my grandfather got me into it. Really miss him was always fun to be around. Since then I moved to Nebraska and got a muzzleloader from Arrowhead Rifles. Even since then his rifles have really improved. They were great then but finding a muzzleloader better is almost impossible. Luke is a great guy and always fun seeing what rifle he comes out with. I've got 3 now and might be getting a 4th a lot of fun to shoot.

Amazing hunt Casey. Love the split scene at the end when you shot. Matt and Login are doing a fantastic job on the filming and editing. I too remember following my dad through the woods.Funny story. I was 8 or 10 following my dad through the woos, stepped on a few twigs and he lessoned me on how we needed to be quieter then the deer. Well long story short he stoped and I didn't. Ran right into his backside because my head was down watching every step. He has passed but I have all of the memories. Love your shows. The clarity is amazing.

It’s maybe not as primitive as muzzle loader but the boys and I have already started planning a 2023 Whitetail hunt with a few rules. No spotting scopes, no rifle optics (only irons), and a few other limitations. If grandpa could kill a deer a year with this 80 year old .303 Enfield, I better be able to.

On your 24hr Pronghorn hunt video, you listed the 10 fastest land animals, but you left off the Tsessebe. An African antelope just as fast as the Pronghorn.

I am buying no means a trophy Hunter either I got to hunt a very cool area this year up by Spokane muley whitetail country. I hunt blacktail normally. We didn't see crap but I was going to try to hold out for a bigger Buck bigger than anything I've ever seen it just didn't. You spent 14 years getting this you got it the way you want to hunt with or without notching a tag.

Yeah, it's a tough balance. Everyone hunts together and we only have a few films each year. Or, we divide and conquer in smaller teams and we produce 5x what we could as a group. We try and get everyone together for 1-2 hunts a year right now. Hopefully that number increases down the road. Appreciate the support and feedback.

That what made that Kodiak island hunt so special! I can't imagine ever being able to top that series. I really enjoyed the hunt's on that series where you were able to get opportunities on the beach! That's what made it seem doable as the pressure of a bear coming was intense up on the mountain.😳

Nice buck! Unfortunate you chose arrogant Luke’s copy cat muzzleloader though… dude does nothing but copy other peoples designs and sell them as his own. He has done nothing for the sport of muzzle loading without copying or stabbing someone in the back. Look into the real creator of that ignition system Jeff Hankins and do business with someone honest!

You should try something I read about. Get rigged spray bottle, not huge, mix 50/50 rubbing alcohol and peroxide. Spray your window instead of scrapping it off. In snow season carry it in the side x side(s) and your truck. Let me know what you experience, please. Jonesy @ Jonesy Family Store @ Yahoo. Keep it up as a group.
