Speaking practice with native didn’t work out great for me, but after all what's important is what motivates you! Language acquisition is a long journey which often takes years, so I hope you can find a way to keep on going!

I can relate to the part when you say that speaking with native speakers can be intimidating. I used to stutter a lot when talking to them bcoz I know that they can spot my mistakes, but then I told myself ‘to hell with it, i don’t care’. Then i just focused on getting my point across and got my mistakes corrected a lot.😂 Now my English is a lot better.

As an English learner, I am curious how you worked on improving your English speaking. Your pronunciation is spot-on, and you sound like a native English speaker. Good job!

Awesome video , Maddie. Your English is excellent. I am learning Spanish and I talk to myself all the time. I also talk to my pets and to my poor, beleaguered husband who puts up with me. 😜 I do speak with native speakers and have found that people who don’t speak English (my native language) are much more patient with me. Often when I speak to a Spanish speaker who also speaks English, he or she will often answer me in English, which is a bit discouraging.

Hi Maddie, What a pleasure to meet you. Could you give us ideas about fluency only at home, Perhaps things to do by yourself when you might not talk with anyone?. Maybe watch Cartoons in series or in movies or learn Lyrics?. Am I in the correct way?. Apps for Native Speakers, Teach My Language to Native English Speakers, and Learn with them is a good idea?. Does it work and worth it?. Thanks for your help.

You are not right, girl mentioning the psychological asdpect of lack of confidence. Don't you know that if you talk to a non native speakers you consume all grammar mistakes they make, and believe me, there are a lot of grammar mistakes as well as pronunciation errors non native-speakers commit all the time.

Yes! I mentioned the point you made in the video :) Anyway, to achieve my level, talking to non-native speakers helped me a lot. Also, like I said in the video, what’s most important is that you keep going ;)

Why is she not right? Don't you see she speaks English well after what she did? You are saying "Don't you know blah blah blah," but she talked about that in the video. lol She clearly knows that! And if what you say is true, then we should never make friends who make mistakes! We should never take a language class because other students make mistakes and you will copy their language instead of the teacher's correct language...
