I freaking love GGS but, as a “Mayn” from back from the GGAC days, it is pretty disappointing how limited May’s move-set has become. She’s always been a gorilla, but at least there was enough versatility in her move-set that there was some variety in play-style. Now you basically just see players taking two approaches: the “spray and pray” (with sloppy neutrals) or the “dolphin or die.”
@odukomaster54733 жыл бұрын
May in strive suffers from having literally no defenses: Chipp levels of durability. Literally only one "get off me" tool that costs tension Bad neutral game Horrendous keep-away Only one or two options to fight against airborne enemies(rip you if your play against a milia main.) Basically she's only good if the enemy is grounded and she's allowed to keep attacking them. But if the enemy knows how to play against the dolphin spam, you're pretty much dead unless you're able to turn it around with a burst or overdrive.

its not even the deleting of half her kit, its more about the type of game strive is. Its severely limited and dumbed down so something thats been in all games for 30 years is suddenly OP and ridiculous. In any other game its a part of her neutral, but there was more going on that it wasn't the only thing on screen or even the most optimal at all times. Stuff like Sol's 5k being suddenly this god button is only because of strive, cause in any other game it was good but it wasnt so insanely good. its properties are no different than any other gg, but in strive its godly

"& here we see the May players fighting for dominance & superiority with their Dolphins, it would seem that they are partially committing to their neutral some buttons have been thrown... Oh! & it seems the yellow Bootyied May has taken to constantl barraging their foe with the Dolphins there's seems to be no hope the Blue Tiddied May & it appears they have been sent flying at mach 5 thru the magic wall common in these environments such savagery but such is the struggle for power in the wild of rollback"

The order to input totsugeki whenever it is possible (or impossible) was hardwired to their brainstem. They can't comprehend why their opponent mirrors their attacks, but it's like fighting one's own reflection.

I don't know this game, but we had players in Mortal Kombat 11 play with this character called "Sheeva" spamming a jump stomp move. I can relate lol

"We are born of the Totsugeki, made men by the Totsugeki, undone by the Totsugeki; our Mays are yet to be nerfed. Fear the (good ol') Totsugeki". This video is a perfect representation of our adage.

I don't play fighting games or even have any idea what game this is, but that combo was insane. It must take so much skill to make so many perfect inputs like that
