Thank you Nova! Many of us have been on the receving end of microagressions. Loved the snowflake example. It sums things up perfectly.

Well done, Nova! Loved this talk. Really liked your analogy about accidentally denting someone’s car - spot on! Intention and harm are different things. Once you start to understand about white fragility you see it everywhere! Thank you for educating with so much compassion and grace. X

Bravo! Some excellent points, made in a very clear and succinct way; which isn't an easy feat when it comes to 'explaining' what the 'phantom menace' of 'racism' and microaggressions are. Well done Nova, a great Ted Talk! I look forward to hearing further talks from you.

All races, nationalities can discriminate, there is good and bad in us all. The ideas we allow in our heads through music, films or the people we hang around with can influence us in a good or bad way. I like what Morgan Freeman had to say about talking about this race stuff. We need balance in society

Whilst I agree with a lot of what is said here, I grew up in leafy Hertfordshire in the 60’s and 70’ and my school (and most schools) had a good mix of children. By the 80’s she would not have “stuck out”

What is your intention with that comment? Is there a reason that this part is the element you have decided to focus on? If you haven't already, I really recommend reading Nova's book "The Good Ally".
