I really love this movie. It deals with ab*** in a way no Cinderella movie does, except perhaps Ever After. Also she is given hope at the end, which helps survivors watching to know they aren’t alone. And in case you’re wondering, yes, I am a survivor 💜

why did i think it would be a lesbian love story? :( there would be a guy and he would fall in love with a girl (a 'cindirella') but when he would try to make a move she would be like nah i'm into girls, you are WAY not my type. and then the guy is out of the picture and she will kiss her female best friend or whoever it is will be as a romantic interest

Hey, guys! I'm Jenni James the author of the bestselling book. Yes, the rough draft was featured on wattpad. If you loved the book, then you should know the final published story was even better. Also, I was approached (every author's dream!) by SunWorld Pictures to write the screenplay too. And even THAT differs from the book. There are a lot more surprises and backstory. I got to be on set as they filmed it--which was also amazing! However, I'm just as nervous and excited to see the movie too. Since I haven't yet! It comes out FEB 2018! PS Thank you for the nice comments. And yes, I've read them all. *cringe* This movie was written for a digital release so look for it on hulu, amazon, netflix (Not sure which order, but it'll be on one of them). Also, this story is so much more than a girl who dreams and her mean family... It's not like the other Cinderella movies AT ALL. I wanted to write something much more realistic and something to help people in similar situations. And I'm so grateful SunWorld kept the surprises out of the trailer. Thank you to everyone who has shared and said nice things. I LOVE YOU! Okay. I'm going back to being a nerdy mom now. :)
