@@lainwarisa lol no. They're fried in vegetable oil, canola and soybean. They have beef flavor, though. If they were STILL cooked in tallow like they once were, they'd be less obesegenic and inflammatory. Don't eat anything fried in vegetable oil unless you wanna be massively inflamed.

And it actually tastes good (measured at fast food in general)! I eat at McDonalds like once in a decade and.. well it is McDonalds, but it still was somehow edible.

McDonalds burgers are already mostly vegan, the only thing not vegan is their meat patties, cheese and mayo and about 50% of these are mixed with soybean oil and water so... Mostly vegan. I guess they took the 15-12% of non vegan stuff in them?

@@Ramiromasters it is basically a hamburger with a vegan patty and a piece of lettuce, nothing mind blowing. The patty is pretty good though.

But McDonald's food is composed of basically very common food everyone has at their house bread, mea patties, lettuces, onions, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, ketchup, potatoes, milk, icecream, etc. Except of course all of their products are mixed with Soybean oil because its cheaper.

Call a thing what it actually is: boiled almond water. Beet and pea protein patties, veggie protein nuggets. It’s delusional to believe that rancid industrial seed oils originally intended as mechanical fuel and lubricants, expelled with carcinogenic solvents and treated with detergents, deodorizers and colourants to make them palatable are somehow “healthy,” or that they are better than, as pure or as nutritient dense as the butter I make without a factory on my kitchen counter from my own pastured cattle five months out of the year, or the tallow and lanolin I get from my sheep, or the pure collagen and REAL breast meat I get from my chickens is somehow “the same” or “just as good” as the seed oil-fried sludge you’re all gaga over. McDonalds it's already mostly vegan... the only thing not vegan in McDonalds are the meat patties and cheese although a good % of their mass is also Soybean oil and water so... Mostly vegan.

This seems to be an ongoing discussion in vegan circles, but you should be aware that egg laying hens, should you for example rescue some birds, have a multitude of health problems associated with their breeding and common farming practices. Many relate to calcium deficiency, like unhealthy bone marrow density etc.. so the most ethical thing would be to let the birds feed on their own eggs, which they will do, in order to alleviate those deficiencies. It also seems that when you provide chickens with an environment they can thrive in, they will, over time much reduce the number of eggs being layed. They still might produce more than they hatch, but .. yeah. See above. Tldr: Earthling Ed had a good short video on the topic a short while ago.

I'm interested to hear other people's opinions on this as well, but my first thought is that we can't project our moral values onto wild animals (they have no moral agency). Veganism addresses the harm caused *by humans*

I've actually just had a conversation with a friend about this, they brought up the point that wild animals (especially prey) don't necessarily live a good life, especially since they're constantly running (and being eaten isn't a painless death)... I just can't imagine how this would be carried out effectively, without depriving one animal group of their needs. Although I'm sure that some day we'll be able to create sufficient diets for carnivores made from plants (or maybe lab-grown meat?) what about the living conditions of the animals? Their instincts won't be fulfilled, we'd have to manage nature without the natural balance that the wildlife provide, AND we'd have to even prevent violence between animals. There's a ton to consider...
