I PROMISE I came back hoping to give you a "Part 2" to the "Our Love Story" episode, yet as is often the case with us, it veered in a different direction. So here's more of a conversation about relationships with some stories and some lessons we've learned along the way. I guess this episode is much like the essence of our relationship...there's planned, there's unplanned, and somehow, always, chaos ensues!

At approximately 28:45 Trid explained how Sheena’s off-hand example of their relationship and bringing coffee was such a teachable moment from both. Trid explained where her example was flawed and Sheena listened openly without getting defensive. Such generosity towards each other from both of them. ❤

Love is about doing the laundry with a smile even if you hate it. Is about losing a little sleep so your spouse can get some sleep after Taking care of a sick child all night without waking you up.. is about enjoying what she cooks for you every day, even if you can cook better than her the one time in three months that you do. It's about realising how fuller your life is with her in it, rather than without. Love is, essentially, what you are willing to give, to get so much more in return.

SERIOUSLY loving Serious Trid!!❤ A guy who thinks for himself,is sincere, smart, funny, honest,in control of himself, takes care of his family yet being ok with his wife being herself! Sheena you SO lucked out here!❤ Guys like these are hard to find. That being said the combo of personalities is also a huge factor in a successful relationship in my opinion.

I think this is my favorite episode so far. I think my favorite part was when Trid said he don't need Sheena but he wanted her, my heart jumped at that, to be wanted by a person that loves you and you love. That has to be top 5 in romantic gestures. I am not jealous of the love/relationship but I am envious. ❤❤❤

I absolutely adore the honesty and respect between the two of you . He said he wasn’t good at communication, but I beg to differ . I’ve been going through not so good relationship goals , as I’m 46 and never been married I guess that makes me “ strange “ when people ask your 46 and never been married ? I say yeah and I’ve never been divorced either . I truly believe in the sanctity of marriage, and only going to do it once . Your relationship gives me hope that this is what it should be like . So thank you for setting my standards back to where they should be . Life is too short to live it unhappy . You guys make my day! ❤️

Although we both work & have never set roles, we have the “traditional roles” as well. I love cooking & cleaning our home because I love him & want our home to be a place where he looks forward to coming home to. I work from home and appreciate that he takes care of the outside, trash and cars. He does that because he loves me. We don’t enjoy traveling & love our home so much, we both work hard at our jobs & at home to ensure we both stay happy and love being together in our home. Great conversation. You do these things as an act of love.

you don't know how much I cried in this episode. You two often make me laugh but this one reminded me of a time when I felt satisfaction and happiness in doing laundry, cooking, and all the services I did for something I deemed the most important part of my life. Granted that my ex was absolutely useless but loving... lol. I'm still thankful that a woman tempted him and he followed her because I would have never left even when that situation was not good for me. Take good care of your love please. People don't realize how rare it is to find someone you can love both foolishly and with reason.

Wow, loved this episode. My wife and I are in our 41st year married. So much of what you said is spot on. 2 half people do not make a whole couple. It takes 2 whole people to make a whole couple. And communication is the key to a successful relationship. There have been times when my wife hasn't liked me, but she always loved me. And vice a versa. You talked about "traditional roles" (cooking, cleaning etc.). We have said we have blue and pink jobs. But that doesn't align with traditional roles. I feel I am better at vacuuming so I do it. But my wife is a better cook. So most times I vacuum and most days she cooks. But there are times when I cook and she vacuums. Don't assign jobs to one person all the time. We agree that whoever does the job better should do the job. Works for us. Also, separate bank accounts work best for us (although they are joint accounts, we each manage our own money. And bills are split according to annual salaries. If one person is making more than the other, they carry more of the financial responsibility. Don't assume how the other person is going to react. Anyway, great episode. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent close TRID.👌 The wisdom of this episode may seem profoundly basic, it is literally the most foundational advice any new couple can receive, regardless of age. I was married to someone for 20 years who didn't actually want to be married to me and the divorce papers were literally signed on the 20th date of our anniversary. It took me 16 years to realize that there was never a chance that I could have changed her mind, but I don't believe divorce is the answer because we can always change our minds. This person has resented and blamed me even to this day. It is so much better to recognize when a relationship is not developing the way you hoped and gracefully accept it for what it is. Some people are just not compatible and that is how life goes. Sheena and TRID, I appreciate your story because you are live and in person, just the way you are.👌 Being sensible is a good thing.🤙
