She really needs to put a clear sign up on property saying it on one KZfaq episode may not do it as she would need to prove they saw it. Nebraska’s laws against trespassing, as listed in Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-521 state that a person commits trespassing in the second degree if “knowing that he or she is not licensed or privileged to do so, he or she enters or remains in any place as to which notice against trespass is given…” Communication to the actor must be given verbally or posted in a manner reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders.

Heya! I'm a farmer from Romania , just found your channel and its really cool to see the way you guys are producing the corn seed. I know about the theory behind it like how you should have 4 - 6 rows of mother plants and on each extremity side a father row for pollination purposes but i enjoyed watching the process . Keep up the great work , sorry if my english was bad and hope that people give you privacy going forward. :)

I agree. It's also probably an important cautionary tale for anyone considering a "real life" youtube channel. If you do make such a channel, consider having your face hidden or making you presence more anonymous. Being a young woman probably makes safety an even bigger consideration. There was a similar smaller channel from Iowa where the young lady seemed to run into similar issues. It's so sad that there are people out there making the lives of youtubers difficult. Laura's channel has not only been entertaining, but also extremely educational and culturally significant.

Reminds me of when the NYFG talked about how they've had to call the cops several times because some people don't understand boundaries or where to draw the line. Unfortunately there are people around who just can't be trusted to make the right decisions on their own and probably shouldn't even be allowed online without supervision.

I agree with all this true they should not have stepped over the line but I also didn't think farming like this was that labor intensive I thought it was more plant the seed and go take a vacation for a month or two. So this is showing me it's a lot more work than I thought

Really really good news about your Grandpa, glad he is up to a birthday party!!! I hate that people have been so bold to come uninvited, I don’t even do that with close friends. Definitely don’t want you to stop the videos, they are something that I look forward to. Always enjoy the farming ones but the ones with you and Grant are the best.

Love watching your videos - thanks so much for sharing. I told my 89 year old mom about you, and how much you remind me of her. She started with horse and plow, and as the world became more mechanized she operated every piece of equipment imaginable into her 70's. Wishing you and your family all the best!

Came across your channel a couple months ago and have been hooked! I know nothing about commercial farming but am fascinated with the complexities of the job required to run a farm each year. This has been such a great education for myself and I hope your channel continues to gain as many subscribers as possible. Everyone needs to know what it takes to produce the food they take for granted in the grocery stores. Also, absolutely love the drone footage! Hope to see more aerial shots in the future! 100% agree that visiting the farm is not ok. It is trespassing. Many people from cities do not understand that just because you own many acres it is the same as our backyard behind a fence.

Well stated Laura. Nicely handled. We got chewed out a bit, but then we moved on, message made. We see more of the farm and your activities in the videos than what someone would see from driving up your roads and trying to see things themselves. I enjoy tractor time, so thanks for the ride alongs! Although for some reason you guys inspire me to want to go out and fix a pivot, lol

In the desert of Central Washington State in my little valley we have always flood irrigated, but with more fingers in the irrigation water supply farmers are converting from flood (using a shovel as a tool) to using pivots and that means using wrenches. So it's from a shovel to a wrench, we had a banker friend in the Columbia Basin Irrigation project, he said the average life of a pivot was 10 years.

Your advice is far from what Laura is talking about she don't put up signs saying you're going to shoot somebody if they come on Laura's family's property. I am a rancher in Northern California and understand what it takes to care for cattle. But I would never shoot anybody that came on my property unless they were trying to harm us. Or advertising that you will shoot somebody is not conducive to keep people out if anything someone crazy with a gun will come upon your property. Speaking from experience.

@@robertrussell9318 you have to draw the line somewhere...i had a 1500 acre farm and had people trespass and destroy fences and crops ..i started carrying a pistol with me when i was in the fields...lost 50 thousand dollars in soybeans b/c of crappy people trespassing..i went from being passive like you to stopping people i saw and telling them i own guns and won't give another warning...it stopped real fast..sometimes you have to make people aware that they are on private property but then again you would think they know the purple on the trees means no trespassing but people are just crappy in general

@@janeames1513 hello Jane, I by no means insinuated that anybody should not protect themselves I am an avid Hunter and I do carry a rifle with me on my Ranch for many different reasons one of them would not be to kill somebody but maybe too hold them for the law. You cannot kill people for trespassing in California you would go to jail. I respect your views but disagree with using deadly force. Unless ones life or property was being stolen which in my case has not happened yet.

But your premise is CREEPY at best. If someone is actively trying to figure out where their farm is and going there to sit on public land and watch them, that is STALKING, and NOT OK.

Laura, I've never actually posted on your videos before but I just want to say thank you for sharing your life with us. I'm not sure how to word this but it is so nice to see women farmers and all of your hard work through planting and harvesting. I'm not sure if you know Kate Stephens who has Kate's Ag on KZfaq but her family has a wheat farm in Montana and it is so awesome to see you young ladies working on your farms. Please don't ever stop your videos but at the same time keep yourself safe. It is sad that you had to actually start this video the way you did but it had to be done. People just don't respect anyone anymore these days.

We were driving around rural western Oklahoma where these pivots are everywhere. From watching these videos I was able to educate my kids on what they were and how they worked. They thought it was neat.

Completely understand the need for privacy. It's hard to put into words how important it is for those who put their lives out to the world. After a few incidents we had to end visitation. Liability, privacy, and personal security is important!

Social media spawns creeps and those who post every detail of their lives need to realize there are many more creeps out their than they possibly can imagine. You did the right thing by firmly informing your viewers you will not tolerate any invasion of your property or personal space. Good reminder, we all need a little space and meeting a stranger on home turf would NOT be good. May be good to show that on the home page in case someone missed the announcement. With that done keep up the good videos. Best opportunity for non farmers to appreciate what you do especially this year with droughts, fertilizer shortages, etc.

Hi Laura! As a YT celeb, looks like you will need to remind those privacy intruders of the clear boundaries from time to time and stick to those rules at all times. As it will not deter those with stalking tendencies, it unfortunately will be a matter of time before you may need support from law enforcement. such a shame that very few have the potential to make such a large negative impact on you. please be yourself and share all those awesome farm moments with us!! Well said. I love that you stand ground on your values, rules, and privacy. People are freakin nuts and have no understanding of boundaries. I hope they heed your warnings. I would hate for you not to continue putting out the awesome content you do. Keep staying genuine. Keep being yourself. It’s about time! As a career law enforcement officer (retired) I have often wondered when you would address this issue. I have long wondered about the safety and security of your family, both immediate and extended. In this day and age you need to have concern for your family’s wellbeing and the potential threats to their safety. It’s just a facet of leading a life with a high profile. Godspeed and be safe!

I actually ran into another KZfaqr I follow in the wild yesterday, out with his family at the same beach bar I was at. I opted to leave them alone and not even try and bother them with a quick hello. Your off time is yours as is your private space and family. Stay safe.

In Indiana back in the seventies they would hire high school kids to do the detasseling. It paid pretty good for the times. There weren't any spinning blades involved, I was never actually able to take part because I was working for room and board at home.

I was actually surprised that you haven’t had uninvited fans there earlier. It’s a really big risk to show you farming and personal life in the internet due not all people have common sense. I also watch a fishing guy that has a rule about giving out any info about his place of living beyond the state, the places he fishes beyond the state-and sometimes not even that. The reason behind the places he fishes is because he doesn't want to cause a sudden influx of people into those areas that could upset the ecosystem, and likely trash everything up. Pretty thoughtful. So many people have little concept of reality these days thinking they are part of something beyond just watching the provided content.

Fortunately the majority of people know you don't just show up at someone's home uninvited or at their business without legitimate reason, but even youtubers and streamers who try their best to hide where they live and don't show any of their personal life have these issues. It's an unfortunate side effect of making yourself visible online

My grandpa raised certified seed for Dekalb in the 40's, 50's and 60's. He's gone now...but he would have LOVED to see all the different techniques and the advancements in equipment over the last 60 yrs...even from the last time I drove tractor in 1993 it's more than a night and day difference. Thanks for the great video! Saw a similar message on your dad's post...sorry you guys are having probs with the uninvited guests. Some people just don't get it, I guess. 1st: I've been wondering about your grandfather but family is very personal so wasn't going ask. I'm thrilled to hear that he's doing well (enough) and the family is celebrating his birthday. 2nd: There's a 1% factor in being well-known. 1% of the attention that comes will come from people who are not in the best shape psychologically. You did well in naming your boundaries. Unfortunately, you may need to do this periodically. The 1% folks can be discouraged but they cannot be cured. 3rd: I enjoy Grant's segments too. His personality comes through, just as yours does. You do well together. Your future is bright.

I would like to meet you and Grant someday and you are such a ray of sunshine. Also, Happy Birthday to Papa Kurt and wish him many more. I'm only 8 years behind him so I know what aging can do to you. So happy that he is still with you. Stay safe out there and always have "protection" with you.

You will be happy to know that my wife and I drove through Nebraska back in May from Sterling, Colorado to Alliance and Carhenge, then down to North Platte to eat at Double Dips Ice Cream, then onto Lincoln to see Memorial Stadium, and finally onto Iowa to see a friend from my Air Force days. I haven’t watched one of your video’s in over a year because of so many other things going on but glad to see you’re still at it. ✌️🇺🇸

Laura thank you for all the time you take too make the videos it is great to see them ,people need to respect your space and not cross that line , They need to know that you are running a business there and it is not ok to show up uninvited. At are farm we had the same problem a subdivision near the farm people thought it was ok to go see the cattle with there kids and they would be in the pens with them. many times had to ask them to leave. hope you keep making your videos they grate to watch.

Grant I move the hand lines and wheel lines, twice a Day in the 80s rain are shine. My brother and I moved around 6 to 7 miles a day. You don't know how nice you have it.

dawn, like a fireball, swept across the horizon, the curtains of the open window swayed lazily, under the influence of a barely felt breeze, opening my eyes, for a long time I could not understand what woke me up. notification of a new video on your channel, this is inspiring, my boots, overalls and a wide hat, again reminded me of the upcoming hard day on the farm, but seeing how you spend your working days, the work does not seem so hard to me, success and a big harvest to everyone us!
